Axis 10, Allies 8 and combat is over.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

There was lots of good targets to ground strike in France. Allies choose not to fly so targets in Brussles won't fly away.
Result is good, but I was hoping to hit MOT or MECH to make Germany use one impulse reorganizing it/them.

USSR rails ENG from Leningrad to Vladivostok.
CW takes Antwerp and promises to keep it until 1941.
USSR cuts rail lines and Japanes forces in Manchuria are OOS (easy to fix, but bomber cannot ground strike).
France is trying to optimize Belgian line. The most dangerous hex has the best units: ARM, MECH and AT.
No attacks.
CW rebases Beaufort to Gibraltar. USSR rebases TB-3 to Manchuria and IL-4 closer to Manchuria. TB-3 and Pe-8 are now in range to take part of combat in Manchuria.

Situation after M/J 1940 impulse 1.
For an unplanned attack situation is pretty good in Manchuria. One more impulse and USSR has railroad connection in west. Maybe that should be planned next time earlier...

France and Belgium. USSR really hopes that Germany is not going to capture Paris for a long time.

I don't know what the CW has in Antwerp, but I don't like HQ's on the front lines if possible.
As for the Initiative roll...I think I would have been tempted to re-roll as the Axis.

In Antwerp CW has Mot 6-5 and mot AA 2-4. CW is little short of units and transporters. CW has 3 corps in Denmark and Germany has damaged one trans every turn.

Yes, not trying for a re-roll was a mistake. Mind you, I still might not have got it but should have tried. Had I won and moved first, Manchuria would not look quite so bad.
RE: AllenK vs Mayhemizer AAR
Not wanting to be the ill-augur bird but to me looks pretty much game over if in '40 the Axis is already bogged down.
Belgium situation is very bad. And Japan is crippled already as they're not only not advancing in China, but losing resources to Soviets.
And with Germany bogged in France, the Japanese cannot even hope in a Barbarossa '41. That safe miracles of the dices.

M/J 1940 Axis 2
No DoW
Germany Land plus O-chit on Rundstedt, Italy Land, Japan Land.
No Port Attacks.
The German Nav flies to the West Med 3-box. The Italian Nav goes to the East Med 4-box.
No strategic or carpet bombing.

Hmm I think to send the NAV out was a mistake - I'd have Ground Strike with as many planes as I could to pin down defenders with insight of the use of the OCHIT.
The less they maneuver the better it is. And the more chance you have to Disrupt the better your combat odds are.
The BEF is nicely out of air cover and can be attacked with the ENG unit doubled up (so double 2 units across a river at full strength), though that attack would pratically soak all of your OCHIT, but dead brits are dead brits.
That is my opinion anyhow and as G-Strike comes first than Land Attack ...

I don't know if you would call the western front bogged down. The USSR on the other hand is taking quite a risk here, with that much units in Manchuria. If France falls next turn (which I expect will happen), they are in grave danger, since it takes an awful lot of time to railmove units back to the west.
Sure the Western front looks good, but if the chit is used wisely, the French are in for a very nasty turn which should lead to a massive breakthrough of the German army...

Not sure if I can guarantee "wisely" but here goes.
The German 150mm opens an artillery barrage on Antwerp. Two Stuka wings fly to ground-strike the French armoured forces.
What does l'Armee de L'Air wish to do?

Belgian fighter intercepts. Let's see if they do better than CW or France...

Belgium fighters scramble to protect their French comrades on the ground. They are met by Me-110's.
The Belgiums see the on-coming Messerschmitt's and decide not to die for France on this day. (Allies 9 AC, Axis 7 AA). Where do the Belgiums wish to land?

Does the French 37mm wish to fire on the attacking Stukas and, if so, how many shots?
