Saved game transferred from one pc to another won't load

I'm trying to open a saved game file from one pc to another. I copied over the all the saved game files including the autosave subdirectory and all the attendant txt files etc. I'm running the latest version on both machines too. When I try to load the file i get an error - "Saved game failed to load". Not sure what i'm missing...

Maybe the save got corrupted in the transfer. Copying files from one machine to another should work, that's what PBEM does after all.
