A little help

Hi, brain fart time... at the end of pbem turn as allies, do you hit, "End the order phase" or the "Save the game" key to save turn. Been a while since playing.

You are better off doing both: first save the game (hotkey 'f'). That way you have a copy in case for any reason you want to examine how things were just the keystroke before you ended the turn. Such as "Hey - is that a bug or did I really forget to do x? Oh, I guess I forgot, never mind!". Another example is to do some planning while your opponent has the turn (sometimes real life stretches things out!).

Next, you hit 'e' for end turn. Make sure you use a different slot than the "save game" you did a moment before! [:D]

One thing I like about the sequence in this game's PBEM process: you can save the game (into any slot you want) and reopen it whenever you want. As long as you have the pw for the player that is 'up' you can continue to 'work on it,' save it again, or if done, "End Turn-Save" it to the slot for your opponent and send it.

I make it a habit to open my turn, play a bit, save it to one slot higher than the agreed on PBEM slot, and when my eyes start to glaze over, save it again, and go do something to wake myself up before continuing. So in sum, you can have your turn saved in multiple slots, which might be nice if some random glitch causes a save to be bugged and you and your opponent have both been overwriting saves on Dropbox or whatever.
