Opponent wanted
hello soldiers,
Even if I'm involved in a big multiplayer campaign, I would like to play some PBEM fights vs. human players ...
Is anybody available out there?
I will accept any challenge, no matters time\nation\defend or attack mode.
I'm not that veteran , but I learn quickly...

I'm game. I usually use German, but lately I've been branching out so sides and date are open. I prefer C&C ON (am I the only one?), and you may want to limit how much artillery you let me use, please list version (7.1 or h2h) and pick your fight preferences.

hello guys
hello Viking & Challenge
I own both H2H and 7.1, so we can use the one you prefer.
Viking: ok for ITA vs. BRI, will it be an early NA battle or a late one in italian paeninsula?
Do you have any other preference? (I mean arty limitation, or C&C mode, etc.) and what about the kind of battle?, meeting eng or advance7delay or assault?
Challenge: I never used C&C on, but it can be the right time to start ...
Let me say that I don't like fights with a lot of powerful artillery, and we should agree about the use of special forces BEFORE starting.
One last thing : It happened that I fought advance\delay battles and my foe got many mines ... that's not correct for me, as I think that this kind of battle is intended as an advance versus an enemy that did not have time to entrench and dig in his forces.
Anyway, any setting can be agreed.
Let me know what you think and feel free to start sending the PBEM files if you have something ready, otherwise we will make all up.
my email is ugoterzi@libero.it and please don't use slot 3, 4 and 5

I suggest you take a small run against the AI with CC on to get the feel... It does play differently.
The major difference is that you have to plan your objectives instead of just reacting to events. It costs Command points to change the objective -- an so the direction -- of your formations. As a result you have to consider depth in the line so you have a reserve to respond with.
It adds to the feel of the battle when you can't instantly respond to a surprise. It also costs Command Points to change from a defensive to advance posture for the units and formations. Calling in artillery also costs points.
The up side, for me at least, is that the command structure that was part of the National Doctrine is more accurately modeled. For example, the American and German forces have fewer squads for each officer than say the Russians. As a result, they respond easier to changes in objectives. CC follows the chain of command through the platoon to the company to the battlion command. Independent formations -- those not part of a company -- go from the formation command directly to the A0 unit.
It gives a slight advantage against the AI, but against another human it could mean the difference between winning and not. I prefer it, but I'm willing to work without it.
I'll wait, because I think you're about to have your hands full with Viking

Ok Viking, I'll wait your setup.
10% art
2 air sec
6k pts each is enough?( for meeting engagement)
infiltrators only if it is an assault.
we never talked about paratroopers ... we don't have to do if you'll not get them....

don't worry
I see Challenge.
Maybe you're right, it's better if I'll practice a little with the AI about the use of CC, it's not easy stuff.
( and I think it could be boring for you to be my trainer in discovering what means having it on...).
Anyway, if you can stand getting a challenge with this option off, I'll be happy to fight any battle with you ( I like germans too, but recently I started exploring the skills of other armies)

ciao totola, scrivo in italiano così facciamo prima....
ok?
