DaBigBabes c ver.14: Bird battalions

Post by Yaab »

Each of the three Australian "bird" battalions has a whopping 175 motorized support. That is enough motorized support for two Australian brigades. Is this intentional?

The units' editor IDs are 6005,6006 and 6007.

It's obviously a typo. Why don't you just fix it?

Been wondering about this myself as it carried over into BTS.

I typically airlift the one in Rabaul out.

In my current game it obviously left all those trucks behind.

After a grueling trek across the island the fragment ended up in the dot hex south of Cape Gloucester.

Those trucks have survived into May '43 with no supply there, at least it still has about 70 trucks(squads)left.

Weird thing is that the game decided that fragment as the parent and treats the rest of the unit that has been in Dobo for just about forever as the fragment.

I can't take replacements in the fragment in Dobo because that function is reserved to the parent. [8|]

So what is the correct number? 75? 35? 15? I am at a loss.

Sparrow, Gull and Lark all go Primary Unit 6004 = 23rd Brigade which has 119 Sup and 59 MotSup. So divide by 3. 40, 40, 39 Sup and 20, 19, 20 MotSup, or equivalent. Your choice and any internal set that adds up to the primary is just fine.

The parent has always been the fragment with the greatest number of support (regular and motorized) present. Has been this way since WITP.

Parents and fragments have always been set to internal database imperitives. When the Device flow don't conform to the TOE flow, thing's get squirley. It has nothing to do with the usual parent/fragment identification, per se. Trust me.

Does that mean I should do any corrections in my Mods or leave well enough alone?

If you have the opportunity, you might as well fix them in your databases. We tend not to make a lot of revisions and just save up all the noted errors for a 'big' revision. You may want to do it different and fix whatever you can whenever an error pops up. Either way is fine. Ciao. J
