Just a quick update on this. I've made some tweaks to the AI (Item 27 on patch list), and I'm waiting on feedback to see if it addresses the issue. In the meantime, I've gone through and edited some of the control files to re-enable knockdowns. This is only active on some of the maps, as some of the map/scenario designers preferred to have Knockdown disabled.

Also, one of the changes made to address how trees were handled in Map maker, resulted in changing the AI terrain map color used to designate large (too big to knock down) trees. This means that all of the maps that use the old color had to be edited to change to the new color. I'm about half way through those maps.

I've been dividing my time between some of these 'patch cleanup' items, and working on the just surfaced problem with Map Maker. I've started migrating the Map Maker interface to google from the v2 API to the v3 API, but its a fairly slow process.

I'll keep folks appraised of the status.

Thanks

I've updated the status of items in the first post. It looks like we have addressed all of the items on the list. It's certainly taken us longer than I had expected, but I appreciate all the work of the team in getting us to this point.

We do have a few cleanup items to take care of yet and we'll have to get together with Matrix to see how we can fit this into their schedule. But I think we're on the home stretch. While Map Maker is working now, it still needs to be ported to the newer Google Maps API in order to avoid problems down the road.

Thanks you for your patience. I know this has gone longer than any of you expected.

Thanks

thanks Stridor. A lot of what we've done builds on things you and the original programmers had already added. We'll see how this goes. We still have some work to do. But I think this patch is a good start.

Thanks,

The game play is a bit different now. It plays more logical. Like the artillery open sheaf spreads out correctly and you can see where the ground is protecting hulldown tanks from direct fire. Infantry is more potent as it will shoot at unbuttoned tank commanders.

Just a quick update. I'm in process of putting together the files for Matrix. I need to clarify a couple of files with the other team members, but hope to have a file set ready for Matrix early next week. there were quite a few file changes, so there may be some back and forth to make sure we end up with the right files for the patch.

Thanks

I see its been a while since I posted an update. Matrix has all of the files for the patch and has put the patch into their production queue. I believe once they build an installer they'll have the dev team check to make sure they have everything right.

I think the plan is to release this as a beta patch that anyone player can access for a few weeks before releasing the official patch.

thanks

Yes, it has been a busy game release time. I was also able to participate in testing Brothers Against Brothers and I'm really enjoying how that is coming alone. I think that is being release in mid April. And of course I had to pick up War in the West for Christmas, but I haven't had much chance to get into it yet. And Desert war 1940-43 looks really good as well, but again only so much time!

Thanks

don't know you've played any of the Command Ops titles but right now for the next 90 days the whole bundle is $50. The game engine and 3 scenarios are free to tryout to see if its a game you would enjoy.

I've never been much of a civil war guy but i like the scale of BAB and the maps look good so i'm keeping me eye on it.

I did play Command Ops and did play them for a while. I'm going to check out their new engine as well when I have time.

Bud,

Last Thursday they send me an installer for the patch to verify. I checked it out over the weekend and had one minor correction that I reported to them just today. I imagine it will be fairly soon.

Thanks!

We may not have much to say right after the patch. But once the patch is official, and we have a chance to digest where we are then we'll certainly share the info.

Thanks

We hope folks are happy with the improvements made to Panzer Command. If you encounter problems with the beta patch please make sure you post them here.

We'll probably keep this in beta for a while to give a wider group of folks a chance to kick the tires.

Thanks for all of your encouragement, without it, this would not have been finished!
