What is Vanguards ID # in the Editor?

Post by Strike Eagle »

I'm having trouble finding HMS Vanguard in the "Ships" slot in the editor toolbar, does anyone what her ID # is? Thanks in advance.
What counts is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight-it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Hello Strike Eagle

HMS Vanguard was launched in 1944, but was not commissioned until August 9, 1946. So she was not an active ship during the war and therefore not included in the editor.
Maybe one of the more astute members may know more, but this is my opinion.

You did not indicate what scenario you were looking in.
I checked and found the HMS Vanguard listed in the 014 Downfall scenario with an id# 3168
The delay is set to 460201
Sorry for my jumping in with both feet in a cement bucket!

Well that's weird, because in the "Ship Classes" slot, Vanguards ship class is in there (ID# 011), maybe to allow players to add her perhaps?

I'm working on scenario 1"Grand Campaign," and I noticed that Prince of Wales has that ID#. Oh and thanks for the response.

If you're in the game and want to know the slot # of a unit, most of the unit screens have the ID in the upper left corner. I believe that number was there in WitP for one type of unit (I can't remember if it was air, ship, or LCU). It was added for the other two types of units because we were always cross checking things between the editor and game during testing. It made it a lot easier to report a data error when you saw it in game.

That may not help you in this case, but FYI.

I know where to find the unit slot # in-game, but thank you anyways.
