Custom background Sounds

The other thread about the tac ops dairy got me thinking, in a company or battalion command post what was the 1 thing that you could always hear weither it be from your headset, the loud speaker the CO had put up because he didn't want to waer a headset all the time or from the sleeping bag where someone was mumbling in his sleep - radio chatter

At the moment the background sounds are a mix of all sounds present in the game so lots of machinegun fire, bangs, booms and aircraft, to me it would be more immersive if there were radio chatter rather than random sounds.

Would it be possible to have a custom sound folder similar to the custom map folder where the engine checks for custom background sounds before using the standard mix of sounds

The background sounds are actually from a background sound file. There are two of them. You can already replace them with your own. Those could have radio chatter thrown in to suit your taste. Info on the format and file name particulars can be found in mod guide 3.

Another player was asking about having radio traffic as a more active item like the movement and weapons sounds. I told him that he could change the background sounds too.
