A 30% chance of ending the turn if all pass! Tempting, but I have sufficient stuff to do to make that a gamble I cannot afford to take.

A summary of this non-event of a turn:
- The Chinese continue retreating where possible
- The Soviets continue bringing back air and land assets from Persia
- The French try and organise a line of some sorts
- The CW reinforce Egypt
- The US attempt to make an advanced base out of the wonderfully named Pago Pago.
AAARRRGGHHH! The throw was a 2 - the turn could have ended and Poland would have continued [:@][:@]

No declarations of war.
Japan take a land impulse while Germany take a combined.
No Port Strikes.
Germany send two fighters to patrol the North Sea.
Germany send one U-boat to the North Sea and another to the Central Atlantic.
Germany initiate combat in the North Sea and send out a naval bomber as support.
Will CW send out any air support to the North Sea?

HMS Newcastle spot the German aircraft but decide to turn away from them and continue on their patrol so combat is avoided.

Since I lack luck on land I decide to test my luck at sea and initiate combat in the North Atlantic.

Both sides rolled a 4 in the North Atlantic so no combat occurs.

Japan close in on the Chinese and capture Chengchow. No US reaction.
Germany assault Warsaw for the third time and finally capture the city. It would have saved me some trouble if I rolled that 10 on the first assault. [:D]
Edit: I forgot to say that the HQ support was a failure this time as well.

Impulse: 11
I really need to move some units in China. If I move the Chinese and pass with everyone else that still gives a 60% chance of the turn ending. I try this approach therefore.
The Chinese obviously choose a Land and continue to run...
...and on a throw of 7 the turn continues - that's the second impulse running if only I had the balls to pass with all the turn would have ended. In fairness I guess a player should play the % unless he is really desperate...

It's easy to kick yourself for missing a turn-end roll by 1 spot on the die (as it were).
But look at it this way: if you'd all passed and the turn hadn't ended, what would have been the consequences?

Exactly - the first pass was a 30% chance and the consequences would have been dire.
This one was a 70% and I am probably in as much trouble having not passed as I would have been if I passed and failed. The Chinese are in major trouble - so was more annoying with hindsight.
