Again, it comes to naught with rolls of Allied 5 and Axis 6.

Finally, the Baltic where, at last, the Allies get a result, rolling a 1 to the Axis 4. Surprise points increase damage to a D and a CP is destroyed. Do the Axis wish to retire the remaining CP?

To move things along I figure Mayhemizer will stay, rather than abort, figuring two successful searches in a row is unlikely.

This indeed proves to be the case when the Allies roll 6 and the Axis 10.

The RAF send the Harrow to bomb Hamburg. The French have a go at Milan with the LeO 451.

The Harrow gets it right in the pickle barrow.

The French effort isn't too bad either.

Tanganyiker Terr rails to Durban. Bordeaux Mil rails to Lille. US 4th Inf Div rails from East to West Coast. In USSR 4th Sibs continue westwards.

The USSR and Chinese make some minor moves.

Going in as a more risky endeavor after the failure of the naval side, the CW invades Sardinia with two Inf Divs. Naval support is added by 2 CA's and the Hampdens add air support.

Do the Axis call assault?

Good job! First time I see something like this done to Italy. I recall you kept one unit in Sardinia as Axis player? Now I understand. Lesson learned.

No re-orgs.

To everybody's surprise, the turn ends on a roll of 1.

No partisans appear and I am at neutrality pact and cannot save. Do the Axis want both to go to offence?

Yes, to offence.

I really could use one more impulse with that Amsterdam...

I thought I'd probably get another impulse to put Amsterdam back in supply and carry on reinforcing the French. Oh well.

The Axis put two markers in offence, while USSR puts one in defence.

The US puts an entry marker in the Jap pool, making 3 in each. None in the tension pool.

The CV Bearne is interned and converted to a US Trans. On a 9 there is no effect on US Entry Pools.

I'm not sure what the value of Sardinia is at this early stage. I normally see it around late 42 or 43. Perhaps the resource?
Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

The resource denied to the Axis economy and added to the Brits with a pretty short convoy line is good in my opinion.
