Do the Soviets want to use the notional?
No thank you.

Bismarck and co make the odds 3:2 - do the Soviets wish to employ HQ Support from Zhukov?

Sure, why not. I will use the artillery for defensive support and call blitz.

Sorry what does that mean? How do I call this into play? I am only being shown Zhukov - do I press the Green button now?

If you have applied Zhukov for defensive HQ support then you move forward (press green button).

The artillery is applied in the same step as the aircraft.

For the attack in the mountains the odds are 22:15 or 3:2. The Germans have brought in a couple of bombers on half-range. The Italians have one 4-strength fighter they can intercept with. The French have 3-aircraft. What do they want to do?

Does that mean they fly or stay on the ground?

They stay on the ground and watch.

Do you want to bring in air power for the 4:1 attack? I have a 5-strength fighter you have a 4-strength.

The Italian HQ Support failed by 1, the Soviet effort was not even close.

So the three attacks (I forgot to attack in North Africa [8|]) are:

Manchuria - 4:1 (Blitz)
Italy - 3:2
Finland - 3:2

What combat table for the latter two?

The first attack is the 4:1 +1 in Manchukuo on the Blitz table.

The result is a 9 and the Soviet INF is destroyed.

Meanwhile in Italy the attack is at -1. Didn't realise that combat friction involves aircraft - that's a bit of a blow.... oh hum....

The throw is a 7(6) so the Italians lose 2 units and the French 1

I wonder why the +1 die modifier is not shown in the picture.

I know that there should be +1 for the blitz bonus.

The final attack is the key one. 3:2 no modifiers on the Blitz table....

...and its a 10. Well that was a welcome relief - with that sort of luck its just a shame I forget to attack in Tunisia [:@]

No losses but the Soviets are Shattered. I convert to retreat.

That's strange. It was there before the attack - I would not have mentioned it otherwise as I can never remember that.....
