Game will not start after hitting play or .exe

For some reason the forums will not let me post anything of substance as it thinks I am posting a phone number, email address, etc. I have posted my message at the top of the attached Dxdiag. Essentially I am getting access errors.

I'm looking at this bug. It is pretty clear the access violation error is happening downstream of the failure to find the FP_Colors.32 file and will go away when that file is properly found. I am also adding some code that I think will head it off in future builds.

If you are using a Windows shortcut to launch the program could you please make sure that the starting directory is the game directory? If it is not then it may be causing the failure to find the FP_Colors.32 file. Right click on the game icon, select properties and make sure the "Start in" directory is the same as the "Target" directory as shown below.
