The Italians try a port attack against Malta with an old Sparrowhawk they found undamaged and ready for action.

The Maltese defenders have found three Gladiators - christened Faith, Hope and Charity - in a warehouse on the island. They dust them down and Biggles, Ginger and Algy have confirmed they are free this afternoon to take them up for a bit of jolly ol' whizz bang sport, what?

Would the CW wish to avail themselves of this kind offer
Yes, thank you. Very kind of you.

Do you wish to commit subs? Presumably not?

Have there been a roll for surprise points yet?

Sep/Oct 1940
Impulse: 1

The Phasing side throws a 1 and the non phasing side a 4.

We then move to air to air (Allies throw first)

17 (DX PX) - The Italian bomber is destroyed and the pilot is killed
15 (DA) - The fighter aborts

I guess surprise points no longer matter.....

With those die rolls there were no surprise points to allocate.

Sep/Oct 1940
Impulse: 1

The Italian Navy put to sea in the Western Med along with their submarine force.

The Japanese put some loaded TRS to sea in the China Sea and Sea of Japan.

The Italians fail to find the French fleet in the Western Mediterranean with a throw of 9. The French throw a 6 so no combat occurs.

Sep/Oct 1940
Impulse: 1

The Germans try and re-adjust their positions north and south of the Pripet Marshes to the extent the mud will allow.

The Japanese move forward in Manchuria.

Just one automatic (28:2) attack in the Soviet Union vs the two Partisans. The Germans have Armour.

The Soviets have three bombers and the Germans can intercept with a 3-strength fighter. What do the Soviets want to do?

Sep/Oct 1940
Impulse: 1

In the interests of moving the game along I will say no. Rationale, the Soviets would need to use up (and get through) 2 bombers to change the odds and these are only Partisans.

The Germans re-base aircraft in Belorussia and the Japanese re-base a fighter in Manchukuo and a NAV in China.

The impulse comes to an end.

I sincerely hope that you meant that the impulse comes to an end. [;)]

No declarations of war.

CW and France take a naval impulse.

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

CW and France send out plenty of convoy escorts. They send their submarines to the Italian Coast. Both France and CW reinforce the Western Med.

They will initiate combat in both the Italian Coast and the West Med. Will Germany, or Italy, send out any aircraft to these sea areas. The Allies decline in both sea areas.

Neither side found in the Italian Coast. A 9 and a 10 rolled.

Will Italy commit their submarines in the Western Med?

If not will Germany use the AA?
