Using Trillian now, not ICQ

Post by tarendelcymir »

Since I have so many **** chat programs, I've moved over to Trillian, which allows me to have all my AIM, ICQ, and MSN chat buddies in one program.

So, you can probably still find me at the same ICQ number, or just as Tarendelcymir on AIM or MSN. If you see me on, I can probably play, unless it's during the day on a weekday, when I'm at work.

EDIT: Might have a problem with Trillian, so I'll stick with ICQ for now.

I use trillian all of the time now... It's an awesome program.

BTW are you one of the beta testers for TOS:WS?

I have a question for you, actually it's more like asking your opinion. I have been a really big fan of Sci Fi Tactical Combat Games in the past. Some of my favorites are the Renegade Legion series, Star Grunt, Dirtside, Ogre and GEV, Robotech RPG, Battletech etc. I like really detailed, in depth turn based gameplay. In a computer game this has become increasingly more difficult to find. All flash, No substance. I ran across TOS a few days ago and so far I am hooked. Not much Flash, but full of substance. Wish I had found it a lot sooner.

Anyway, There is very little info on TOS:WS out that I can find. I know that you can not discuss the game in depth so what I would like to know is what your impression of the game is. Is it still a detailed, in depth tactical wargame but with more flash(better graphics) and more substance(More in depth gameplay and complexity)?

Inquiring minds would like to know.. :D

I almost forgot... I have 1 big question for you that I hope you can answer. I run a dual monitor setup on my systems and allways play games in a windowed mode rather then fullscreen. Do we still have the option of windowed or fullscreen with TOS:WS?

TIA

Warring Suns has lost nothing of the substance of the freeware ToS, while adding better graphics, some new weapons, campaign missions and a much smarter (read deadlier) AI. Probably other stuff, too, that I can't think of at the moment. I expect you'll be very happy with it.

As far as windowed mode, I believe that's still an option, but I'll let Larkin or Iceman confirm it, since I can't recall at the moment, and am at work, so unable to check.

If you like TOS v1.4 you might love TOS WS.

Its more beautiful, has an improved AI and rule system and can be played either in fullscreen or windowed mode.

Its based an everything TOS freeware had + much more.

There are numerous changes like automove to a certain hex, variable shield levels, some new weapons, scripted missions with flexible AI, 3D landscape, interface enhancements, a map editor and lots of other stuff.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot about the variable shield level. That's one of the most useful features around. Makes fine-tuning shield use into a real art.

That's cause Larkin and the VB team are awesome. :)

Speaking of 1.4, do you play online? I'm always looking for new opponents, since I finally have a connection at home again.
