US Entry

Post by Platon »

V.1.3.3, Global War, all available Optional Rulses ON, Turn 2, Japanese Land Movement:

When entering an unoccupied, chinese controlled Nanning an US Entry roll is taken as it should be. But an US Entry Marker is only awarded on a roll of 2 or less instead of 4 or less as I expected. Looking at the US Entry Action help list under "Die", a somewhat mysterious "2..4" entry is shown.
Is this a consequence of using the "Additional Chinese Cities" optional rule (found nothing about this in the help for this optional rule) or some kind of bug?

with kind regards
And it is also my belief that there has to be CAP for the active player during Ground Support.

Yes the Additional Chinese Cities option means each is a die roll of 2 or less, but also subtract one from the roll result for each factory stack in the captured city - which accounts for the 2 to 4 range. FREX a 4 or less for Chungking.

Ok, thanks. Should be noted somewhere in the rules though.

I'm pretty sure it is in the Manuals somewhere. Have you got the latest and greatest hyperlinked version of the Manuals plus Rules as Coded that came out with version 1.3.3?

It wouldn't be in the ADG RAW7 rules since the extra cities were added due to MWiF having the Euro map scale world wide and China's area increasing be a factor of about 6. Supply for the Chinese became a big problem without the extra cities, but it was realized that keeping the US entry roll the same would not work.

Yes. I found it mentioned there now, in contrast to the help entry where this last passage is missing. Thanks.
