Pilchard declares war...or not.....
Is it me or does anyone else have the following issue?
No matter how many times I play this game I keep pressing the wrong button after choosing who I want to declare war on i.e. I press O.K - Done. and not Declare War.
If it is a general problem it would be nice to have something to make clear what button to press next. If its not a problem for other people maybe I am just a bit of a pilchard [&:]

It has been a problem for me and so I said a few times, Steve then made some changes on the form so now it works better for me. But, from time to time, I still make that error.
Luckily it has mostly happened when I played against myself. [:D]

Yes - of course it is careless, after all its not like there is not a button marked Declare War on the screen.
The problem is - and I just wanted to check I was not the only one - that the "natural" thing to do is declare war and then press OK to advance the impulse.
If it is a wide-spread "issue" and its not a biggie to amend - say by the Declare War button being highlighted in a scenario when any declaration is made - then it would be nice to have.
Understand there are more pressing concerns, but for me, I have been playing this game solidly since launch and I still regularly make that mistake.

I can see how it happens, but as long as you are doing autosaves, it takes only seconds to fix and it would be unlikely to do it again so soon after.
That form is scarey as I usually pause to be sure before clicking OK-Done that I'm not DoWing when I don't want to.
I guess the program should know if you've highlighted a country and could then treat OK-Done as meaning do a DoW, but the problem may be that the only way to "un-highlight" is to highlight some other country. [&:]

You reckon?....[:(][&:]
[:)] You seem to be ignoring the power of the Pilchard.
It may be seconds but if it affects a considerable number of players (I do not know if that is the case) then it would be nice to "fix" - as ever, only if its a quick win.

What I was thinking was (and as a non-programmer I have no idea of the feasibility) if at any time you click a country to declare war on, in addition to the red print appearing in the box, a red highlight surrounds the Declare War Box or the wording turns bold. Something like that. It does not matter what country it is, any war declaration choice will automatically bring this feature into play.

Yes the UI design for that form is not an award winner. Which of: bugs, missing scenarios, missing optionals, Netplay or AI work should be set aside so it can be improved?

I modified the DOW on Minors form for version 1.4.0.0 so the button Declare War is much larger. For the next released version it will be larger for both majors and minors.ORIGINAL: warspite1

You can be real snotty at times.
As you will recall from post 6 I said "if it affects a considerable number of players" and "if it was a quick win".
Clearly what I meant by that was that this is definitely a major - no sorry - a massive priority issue that needs to be sorted NOW. Steve should drop everything, including all work on bugs, missing scenarios, missing optionals, Netplay and AI work to get this hideous carbuncle that destroys the game sorted ASAP.[8|]
I didn't think there was anything wrong with suggestions being made to improve the game experience - but it appears that is not the case according to you.
