May/Jun 1941. US Entry Pool and Options.

The US adds another chit to the Japan Entry pool. However, it only chooses an option that targets Germany (and Italy). Option 29, North Atlantic Escorts. The thought is that the USN could take most of the burden of escorting convoys in the North Atlantic and free up a number of RN cruisers for duty elsewhere.

May/Jun 1941. Country Economic Reports.

Germany lost 5 production points, which translates directly to a 5 BP loss, to RAF strategic bombing. That's a 17% reduction in Germany war production!

Japan's oil reserve is down to 2 points! It's only oil income is 1 oil point per turn from its synthetic oil facility.

China suffered no reduction in production even though Japan made a significant effort at strategic bombing of Chinese factories. That is, Japan's strategic bombing this turn had no effect. However, I don't see Japan letting up in this effort.

The USSR used 3 saved oil points to bump their production up to 29 PPs, which gave them 15 build points (before trade). Because of rounding effects, these 3 oil points increased Soviet production by 2 BPs with a 50% production multiplier.

July/August 1941.

To say the least, the German player is bummed out. He's short 9 garrison points of being able to break the Nazi-Soviet pact.

Initiative. First Roll. The axis roll a 7 and the allies an 10. The allies win the first roll. The Germans decide not to re-roll given that they have no chance of breaking the Nazi-Soviet pact and invading the Soviet Union. The allies choose to move first.

Allied #1.

Weather is fine except for storms across the equator, which includes southern China. It's monsoon season there! The CW takes a naval, China a land and everyone else a combined.

July/August 1941. Allied #1. North Atlantic.

In the North Atlantic, the USN sends a carrier, battleship and cruiser to sea box 0 to help escort the convoys there. With the US being able to help escort convoys here, German u-boats can't really operate in this sea area anymore.

July/August 1941. Allied #1. Italian Coast.

In addition to doing the normal business of their first naval move of a turn (e.g., convoy escorts, adjusting convoy routes), the CW moves strong RN forces into the Italian Coast in order to challenge the Italian control of that area. Both sides failed to find each other. So no combat for now.

July/August 1941. Allied #1. RAF Strategic Bombing of Germany.

With all Luftwaffe air units in the east trying to help break the Nazi-Soviet pact, RAF strategic bombers continue fly unopposed to their targets. Three RAF strategic bombing raids managed to destroy 2 German production points.
