Question regarding the option not to zoom out during combat resolution. Do I have to re-set to off every time I open the game?, i.e., I set to off in the options but it reverts to on when opening a saved game. Is this WAD?

I've noticed this as well too-- the game doesn't seem to save the setting on zoom out, unlike the other options.

But really great beta in general. I can not emphasize how much the formation indicators on the Nato counters make the game so much more immediately understandable and accessible. As I mentioned elsewhere, I still hope small squares can be also added to those counters ranging from green to red to indicate strength and morale.

But great job on this beta! It's huge improvements to an already fascinating system.

Michael T,
You missed my post#27, in which I said it's there, but was left out of the list of changes

Excellent, I can't start my PBEM. Thanks [:)]

All the new additions are wonderful! Thank you for all your hard work on this patch! I hope it becomes official soon.

One problem - when the OOB is opened, you cannot scroll the map to the left by moving the mouse to the left edge of the screen.

Thanks Gil, some really nice work there and very fast to get it in. I still would like to give different orders to elements of a brigade. I'm playing a PBEM game atm and my brigade is holding a bridge, my cav unit belonging to that brigade is pretending to be a whole brigade by himself in some woods and is doing an excellent job of holding up an enemy reinforcing brigade. The only trouble is, he has the brigade order of hold which is hampering his movement. The game is great and the maps are very nice.

I was still able to move the cursor to the far upper left edge or bottom left edge and have the map scroll with 1.03Beta. Just not the middle left edge of the screen.

Thanks

Installed 1.03 beta, loaded an existing AI game to look at it, first went to the OOB and game stopped working when I clicked on the OOB extension arrow. Repeated this when I tried again.

I can't reproduce this in general. Which scenario?

Once you're playing a scenario:

Under OPTIONS:

And then SCREEN DRAWING OPTIONS:

(About half the way down. "Zoom Out during Combat" Set it to OFF.

There's a chance this was caused by a significant change I made to the OOB, replacing McClellan with Sumner as the top Union commander. (This was discussed somewhere in the forum -- McClellan arrived on the battlefield around 5:00, while Sumner was running the show before that.)

I don't know how the code works, but it's possible that this change would affect ongoing Williamsburg games.

See Post #29 above.

Btw, I'm sticking with the original zoom out for combat results. For me, it just seems to work better visually than the zoom in.

Wow! That was fast! (I just echoed others this morning for an option not to zoom out during combat resolution.)
Will give this a try. Thank you.

It would be really nice to be able to move the camera around during the combat results page so we can better monitor situations.

I assume this is with the zoom out turned off. It should at least jump to where the action is for each firefight. Otherwise, what's the use of adding the zoomed in feature if it doesn't move the camera to each of the shooting units during the resolution phase?
