Split units

Post by VigaBrand »

For firefight the best is under 350 men per hex. What is with charging? Are there penaltys for lagre units?
How can I approx my charging result?

Good question, usually I don't charge if I'm not very sure about the outcome (i.e. a shaken enemy battery to capture the guns).

Anyhow I don't remember to have read this kind of modifier.

Seconded... I usually only charge when I know I can take the objective without being gutted. I'm hoping that the devs clean up the unit information boxes so that you have a better idea at a glance the shape your regiment is in...

apart from gun taking, i've never split a unit and tbh can't see why i would want to either, if i hold a victory hex or location, i use what i have got, and would never weaken another full strengthen unit to do anything tbh, so it's one of those that maybe there for history rather than game play use i'd guess

well I found out after some reading that u can split units up as long as they havent been pre split before battle.

You can also put em back toghether as long as they werent also pre split before battle.

FYI Zak the game only take into account the first 350 firing in a battallion due to the 75 yard hexes. SO it is a good idea to split your men if your batallion is over 500. Also in melee it seems any men over 350
also dont help because I charged 600 at 250 and both came out with about 50 casaulties each!!

300 wins?

no, almost 300 plays, i'd say 60% wins with 30% draws, 10% losses so far
