Man, This Game Really Likes to CHEAT!!!

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Wow, my guys can never see AT guns or shoot straight at distance but the computer ALWAYS zeros in with no problem, dialing in my position right away and hitting a penny at range!!!

It sounds like there is an AT gun that has obscured LOS (line of sight blocked by foliage, smoke, etc) but an unblocked line of fire. It can still fire in this case /if/ there is another friendly unit spotting the target. The accuracy will be low for blind shots, but they can still hit.

I dunno...just now, my Pak-40 was able to take out infantry but decided to "save ammo" when confronted with a Cromwell!!!

Units conserve ammunition when they're down to their last few shots and/or when the chance to hit is low. But if you issue a fire order, the unit should fire regardless.

That's what I thought...well, I'll just chalk it up to maybe my guys not being as experienced, more fatigued, whatever -- I couldn't take note of all the various possible factors, of course (seeing how I was frantically staring down the barrels of some Cromwells!)....
