Britain takes a beating on the high seas and looses two battleships to Nazi submarines. (I attacked with my whole task force, instead of breaking out my DDs and just attacking with them. That worked better. I will need to do that when I attack wolf packs.)

China is saddened to report the loss of Tsingtao.
China could use some modern equipment from its allies.

There were rumors of peace in the Far East, but Japan had spent the whole month attacking us and causing casualties, so the Chinese simply went on with their planned attacks. China is weak, true; but she has two things going for her. One is attrition, and the losses we took during the Japanese player phase had to be made up. We want to cause the Japanese so much pain that they will abandon the cruel war against us. The second factor in China's favor is the Japanese fuel shortage. We want Japan to have to fly and sail as much as possible. We want them to be short of oil each month.
Oh yes, there is another factor which has become apparent. We have received the beginning of equipment shipments from our friends. A small start, but a wonderful step in the right direction. China is grateful, and, in time, we will repay the favor.
Japan has no business in China. She should restore the territory she has stolen, and go home to live in peace.

Who's turn is it? There is no file in the directory. The Old Turns directory has a turn for Italy dated the 10th and the prior turn was for the US on the 6th.
[UPDATE]
It looks like the problem is on my end. When I use the website to look at the directory I see more files, and it is my turn. I will have to fix my Dropbox so it syncs properly. For now I will download the file via the website.

Well I have a question. Because of the engineering points issue I have missed my chance to build a factory in 1938 for China. Have I lost my chance permanently?
Will the factory I build be a "1939" factory?
What say you Ernie?
Thanks,
Chuck

Thanks guys. I have been so proud of getting the Chinese in "under the wire" in other games, but I am glad I have not lost a factory.

Hey ernieschwitz, how about making a card that allows the USA to build 2 factories that year (perhaps for a determined number of PP's)? In Game 20 I am playing the US, and it seems like I should be able to ramp up production to become the "arsenal of democracy", but it does not really work well raising one city per turn by X production, or the very expensive 5% boost either.

RE: GD1938 Game 21
I have found the 5% boost will do the job. The USA can get a powerful economy and do a fine job as an "Arsenal".

I am going on a camping trip next week. I will be leaving on Wednesday and returning on Monday. That means that this coming Tuesday will be the last day I have a computer, for a week, until the following Tuesday. How do you want to handle my absence? Should somebody play my turns or do we all just want to take a one week break. I am fine either way.

Can't speak for everyone but have a great trip, play your turn when you get back.

I have returned from my vacation and finished my turns. Germany has decided that all they want is war. Shall there be no end to it?
RE: GD1938 Game 21
Dropbox became very confused and gave me dual folders "Game 21" and "Game 21 (1)". The one I see as "Game 21 (1)" is shared so I put the German turn in it, but I left this turn in the one called "Game 21" also. This does not look shared so I expect it is an artifact of the errors. If I see which folder we are using I will use it.
I never saw the turn till today so I am sorry for the long delay.

Last time I checked, my folder for Game 21 had a turn and the old turns folder. Tonight I see the German turn but nothing else (no old turns folder). Did the game get re-started? Am I still Italy? Does anyone else have no old games folder?

RE: GD1938 Game 21
According to the game events log for game 21 cpdeyoung deleted the saved games file some 4 hours ago, I am guessing for a reduction of the Dropbox strain on loading times, due to the size of the old turn folder.

RE: GD1938 Game 21
I left the "Old turns" in one of the "Game 21" folders.
However I think the "Old games" folders are a very bad idea. I was careful to place turns there, but they are costing us load time, and Dropbox space, and they have no value whatsoever.
I am in favor of deleting them from all game folders, and not using them anymore.
How does everyone feel? Do they actually have a use?

Fine by me, may be a idea to retain the previous turn, just in case, the inevitable human error occurs.

Old Turns:
I have in the past used the old turns folder as a teaching tool for new players.
I have also in some really bad cases used it to check on suspected cheats. In case anyone is really interested no one really uses strong passwords in games...
