Thanks for the pics.

Maybe the biggest problem i see is graphics is the clonic hexes used... i remember the old SP and how you have a lot of visual options to show the same hexes type (and how you can burn grass or buildings to break enemy morale).

A little question with the 3rd image... in the right corner, down, the unit betwen the MG and the AT rifle... what you represent in the hex??? infantry unit dug-in in a building??? a garrison for a house maybe??? is an interesting way to show them and not block as usual the terrain with unit counter.

Out of this the counters are ok (maybe i prefer simple colours but is not bad) and the icons to show unit type are good... they remember be Panzer General 2 icons.

Good luck, game looks interesting.

PD: i notice the soviet units with "first line" text in counters... this means that you can define a name for the unit like in SP???

Peter,

Nice! I love the classic board game look [:)]

Only issue I have is that I haven't seen my beta request picked up yet [:'(]

PS: Just sitting here with nothing to do except beta test [;)]

Yep that looks pretty good to my eye. The classic boardgame....... looks good. It has a nice familiar feel... a lot like ASL in feel. Look forwards to testing it. [:)] Curious about the stars on the unit counters. Have I missed something? Do they represent number of troops? ie single half squad full squad or do they relate to ELR or unit quality (Elite, first line etc)?

The stars on the squads/half-squads/crew represent morale quality. Letter represents fire power.

On a leader counter, stars represent leadership bonus (used for rallying, passing checks and directing fire) Letter on Leader is morale/rank.

There is unit quality like Elite/1st Line/2nd Line etc...and there is also experience (Inexpert, Average, Seasoned and Veteran), which is similar in concept to ELR.

Wow, the more I learn about this game the more excited I get. I wasn't going to sign up for beta but changed my mind cause this game is looking so interesting. Seems to be at just the right scale I like, with nice graphics that could easily be expanded to cover all of WW2. This just might be that SPWAW/ASL game we've all been searching for.

Kind of reminds me of the board game GD'42 and that isn't a bad thing. [:)]
