After playing "Secret Weapons over Normandy" and "Call of Duty 2 Big Red One" when I was in elementary, WW2 has been my biggest interest.

Did any of you subscribe to Avalon Hill's 'The General?'

Yep. S&T's mag too, a game in every issue.

1st Real War game was PANZERBLITZ, all the way back in the 7th or 8th grade! Followed quickly by PANZER LEADER & THE ARAB ISRAELI WARS.... all using the same basic rule system.
Subscribed to the GENERAL and owned a ridiculous # of Avalon Hill games; WOODEN SHIPS & IRON MEN (WSIM) was my favorite and I almost never lost!

By 9th grade I believe I was battling Floyd G (Tracker boy) in Avalon Hill's VICTORY IN THE PACIFIC. By 10th grade we had moved on to SPI's WAR IN THE PACIFIC which we tried multiple times!
