Forecasting - I know John very well. What I see in the weeks ahead is him using the 2nd ID (already prepping) to take Suva. Some other LCU(s) will grab Noumea. How much further into the SoPac, I'm not sure of right now? What I am sure of is John will send small SC TF (CL & 4 DDs) or larger down to southern map edge if he suspects transports and tankers going along the deep south route. I may do what you suggested, but that is months away from being reality. I will probably not do anything in SE corner of map until after invasion bonus expires. Construction engineers will need to go to Port Stanley first to expand base and John should see that effort by viewing his Operation Reports.

What we all know about John is that he likes to kill stuff with his navy more than anything and sometimes at the expense of anything.

So. Why use So Pac at all? He's putting his eggs in the Pacific. Put yours in the Indian. Just send everything to EC through the canal. Then use off map to CT. Then is you need to get to OZ use the safe side. It's not actually a much longer route and it's a LOT safer.

Then you can put your CVs at the map edge in So Pac and make sure search works to see the KB. If SCTFs come calling, let em get a sniff of something and then pull the trigger.

Last know position of DS by John was around Java and up to Tarakan. So, he knows he would need some CV strength to go for western Australia. He has the four divisions from Manila and one or two from Singapore not involved in Java to use. But where to go without carrier support?? He has just gotten CVL Nishin and CV Junyo as new builds and probably CV Akagi repaired to use in eastern part of map.

The nice thing about the routes onboard from Cape Town is that they mimic Balboa.

A run from CT to Perth enters the map due south of Perth. I haven't tested a route from CT to the Port in the bight north of Adelaide (can't remember name) to see if it is the same kind of straight shot from the south map edge but it's worth looking into.

I've already shifted significant shipping to Eastern USA base and then load for Cape Town. A large TK TF is finishing loading almost 200k in fuel for CT. A TF with 179k is less than 3 weeks out of CT along with the 4 largest, fastest AOs for DS almost to CT. Over 110k in fuel is in a TF south of Albany/Esperance. I use Adelaide for early war destination in Australia from CT until things are more secure around Perth. I'll build up the ports at Albany and Esperance by mid-summer if John leaves this area alone. I'm already planning to use the slower AOs in SE Pacific and western USA along with the smaller TKs (Sun H type).

I have conducted an attack on Hawai, even a PH invasion as jap in old witp (pbem) so my humble advice is do not try to save Hawai or to reinforce, you will loose everything. The good news is that you don't need PH and he will have to maintain a big garrison. So attack where he is not.

At Changteh, he was already suffering disruption and low supply, then shock attacked across a river (I presume he came along the good road). River SAs seem to really penalize the attackers because of the lack of cover. The Chinese do have a few mg squads.

Re: the fuel to go to Hawaii - does this mod give Japan extra supply and fuel too? If so, I would say this is no big deal since he can make up the usage by holding onto the oil-producing bases longer, given the extra military power Japan gets in this mod.

I have a Master's Degree in Community Agency counseling from Clemson University. Spent 5 yrs plus with adult Schizophrenics. For the last 13 have worked with youth, mainly teenagers. And with John 3rd's "Narcissistic tendencies." Two years in residential setting, nine years in mobile crisis, and now have 6 family I see in their home for intensive family therapy three times per week. So, I know all about OCD-ness and how to cope with it. Well, at least a little. [;)] It does help in late war as Allies when there is so much going on.
