I would love to continue the naval war against the USA and Great Britain.

Larry should have an impressive navy, and if Rufus does not mind playing some more after fighting you for so long, I would enjoy a big naval war.

An air attack this turn on Honolulu from Midway and "Shangri-La".

Well, as much as you would like to fight it out to the bitter end...victory conditions have been met. I think this war was over before the USA even got into it. And the USA cannot fight the entire world. Plus I think I made some mistakes as the Americans that has left me unprepared for immediate attacks. In other words I can build thing but don't have any ready right now.

Congrats to Ironduke to his impressive victory. And cograts to Chuck to playing a very good game, making Japan a very powerful nation in this game.

When China surrendered Britain was fighting on lost ground. It was obvious that it would be impossible to stop Japan. And Britain was not able to defend against the increasing power of the German-Italian alliance. Attemps to get a foot in the door on the continent failed or were not even tried - although in my last two turns I loaded several units on transports to try a landing. Would have done so in next turn.

However, I was surprized that there was no help from USA. There were lots of US forces sitting in there home bases. As USA was not at war with Axis it could have send naval combat forces and transports everywhere and prepare for an attack against German or Italy when USA isolism ends. Without support I was only able to build up enough defences to make any Sea Lion a failure, but was unable to defend any area outside of the British islands.

Anyway, a challenging game. Thanks a lot.

"although in my last two turns I loaded several units on transports to try a landing. Would have done so in next turn."

Any Allied landing on continental Europe would be problematic, since the end of the Russian Campaign I have German Armies with nothing to do, backed up by substantial air assets, with the resources available to the UK at the moment I feel they would be just throwing away good men for no net gain. No Sealion has been planned or even considered, with nothing in it for the Germans in terms of victory conditions, and the prospect of very heavily defended UK.

Once again thanks Juergen Larry Louis and not least the Japanese peril Chuck.
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?
