Game is now not recognising my opponent

As a result after finishing my turn, multiplayer is still showing me as the active player and when I clicked on to test whether my turn had not taken, the game appears with my opponents units in view. Have checked this twice now, leaving using Task Manager.

Ironclad, you may be talking a different game but in case it's with me, I did play and send off my turn earlier and my active list does show that you are up. If you are seeing my troops don't look to closely! [;)]

On the off chance that it's our game, that does sound very similar to an error one of my other opponents has been having (playernext not available or something like that.) But he's been having to re-do turns on a fairly consistent basis.

Alternatively, both our sides were getting dangerously near reaching the morale breaking point last turn, so maybe is it just an error related to the victory screen?

Of course it might not be our Wilson's Creek game...

Was there an error reported when you uploaded the game? What is the name of the game? When was the last time you tried to upload your turn? Which version are you playing?

I think the error was player next not available. The game is my one with Clinchrifles and is listed as "For anyone (1st Manassas standard scenario)" and showing me Ironclad on Turn 1 - we each played at least one turn. I tried to upload yesterday but got the error message and since then everytime I go in its showing Clinchrifles message to me at the same time as showing his units - needless to say I leave quickly using task manager. Have just checked again - same sight. I think I started playing this on 1.05 but am now on the 1.06 beta.

not only do both need to be on the same version, but both also need to stay until the end on the same version or it may give errors, better to finish a game off before update imo, then again i could be wrong, 50/50 tbh

Thanks. The change in version probably doesn't matter in this case since for 1.0.6 the changes and fixes are all UI-related. I don't see any error in the server documentation with the words "player next not available." The only listed error with "available" in it is "challenge not available" and the only errors listed with "player" in them is "maximum players exceeded" and "you are not a player in this game." I will write to the fine people who maintain the Slitherine PBEM++ server and see whether they have added a new error code.

To be honest I couldn't remember the exact wording. It was something about next player and when I read Map66's comment above that seemed like the wording that I was trying to recall so I put it in my post.

Different game with Ironclad. He had updated to beta 1.06. My turn, it crashed twice when I hit end turn. Message was just Brother Against Brother quit working. It checked for solution both times then shut down. I tried a 3rd time and the game worked. So don't know if a time out issue or it just quit working.
