Crash on loading

Recently bought game on Steam, failed to do anything when I clicked play. Followed troubleshooting guide and ran the redist files for DX, XNA and Net this then let me load the splash screen and after it loaded there was a few rendered borders before a CTD. I've started windows with no programs running and IE and WMP are running. Looking at the crash dump it seems to be something to do with WMP. Im running Windows 7.
