Flank Combat Maneuver in the Game?

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Flank Combat Maneuver in the Game?

Post by Templer_12 »

From Scourge of War: Gettysburg manual:

Left Flank/Right Flank Use these two buttons to
order the selected regiment to slide to its left or right.
This is a very useful maneuver in unblocking another
friendly unit’s line of fire to an enemy unit, or in moving quickly to flank an
enemy unit.

Are these maneuver in the game?
I can't see them.

Nor 'About Face' maneuvers?
About Face Use this button to order the selected unit to face
the opposite direction. The men in the regiment will simply turn
around, and the rear rank will become the new front rank.

You better use the full toolbar under modifications in the main screen. This is great and gives all possible comands.

We provided two control options with the game and people can switch between them as required.

Our new system, the pop up, context sensitive UI is designed to be user friendly, faster and has the essential buttons. We did a survey of all the test team and then went with what you see as our 'must haves'. There are other commands from our old games that we knew people would miss, or that people might not like the new UI so we made the grog toolbar. We playtested 20 scenarios and 12 months of multiplayer with the new UI only and I guarantee it does what you need. It depends on your playing style.
