What a great game

Post by jjdenver »

Wow, I'm really impressed with the game. So much chrome and engine changes compared to Panzer General. I just keep discovering interesting and well-designed elements in the game. I can't even remember the entire list but:
reduced air losses as strength decreases
reduced combat tempo in difficult terrain
flanking rules
soft/sticky zocs
torpedos
aa fire
sonar search and radar soft identification
naval range rules
supply rules

I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting but this game is one of the best TBS games I've ever run across. I love hardcore games like SSG's games, etc. This isn't a hardcore game but it game has enough going on that it feels very deep. The integration of air, naval, ground is great - reminds of of WIF (not the same ruleset but they both share the train of well-done integration between air, naval ground).

I can't wait to see what comes next from Aristocrats studio. Please release many more games with this engine and continue to improve it. Fantastic job, really impressive.

Yes it's a great game and the level isn't overwhelming if a younger wargamer gets interested he just might look up Midway,,Coral Sea on the internet and start learning.. Between this and Nam 65 I'm tied up all summer.
