The maps 'M' and 'N' in the game

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

The maps 'M' and 'N' in the game

Post by Templer_12 »

When I open the map (M key) in Scourge of War: Gettysburg, the map comes up with a legend as sideboard.
In Scourge of War: Waterloo, the map (M key) shows up plain and is therefore not as easy to distinguish from the command map (N key).

1. I want back the sideboard legend!

2. Are the maps used in the game historical maps?

1. We removed the legend to make the map bigger on screen. I understand everything on screen may not be the ideal size - but please remember we have to cater for every monitor size. So for example with your forum thread on portraits, we explained that we had added those in the status window. But small monitors cannot have them open all the time. So we have set the windows and text for a certain size but then the text can be too small. We change the maps to maximise the size, but we have to remove the legend.

Everything is a trade off.

2.Yes - the maps are realistic maps. Even elevations.
