Do the new context menu system works well?

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Do the new context menu system works well?

Post by Templer_12 »

I have my doubts whether the new context menu system really always works well.

Here the French marched on to the left flank of the British regiment. But the British context menu don’t offers the option to change the facing.
The British are flanked exemplary, can‘t defend themselves, are slaughtered.

Yes. Wheeling is not part of the context menus. I think it is found in the menu bar below. Or you can just right click drag.

The primary way of changing orientation is the new 'right click and drag'. You can set any orientation and do not require buttons.

Wheeling shows up once the unit is engaged, ie the fighting toolbar. That is the stationary toolbar, hence the 'lie down' option still being available. But it is only for use for small increments when under fire.

As i said - it shows up in the fighting toolbars.

We have 4 context sensitive menus.

1. Destination (movement order)
2. Moving (similar to the destination one, but we left it in in case anyone could think of a relevant use for it - has a stop button, that is about the only difference)
3. Stationary - shown in your first post.
4. Fighting - shown in your second post.

Different menus for cavalry, artillery and infantry but they all have 4 menus.

That is the second screenshot and yes they are fighting there. Once they are targeting someone or under fire the fighting menu will activate.

My original answer still applies. Once they are targeting someone or taking fire the fighting menu will activate.

I am seeing that behaviour now that you've mentioned it.
