I have no problem paying full price for titles like WITW or WITE, especially as DLCs only provide this much content in a grand strategy game.

I felt the initial prices for Panzer Corps and OOB were fair (OOB could have been €5 less, but oh well) and happily paid for all the DLCs and expansion packs that followed with PC, as those provided a great amount of additional gaming time. It was a fair model.

The same goes for Paradox. Think of their games what you want, I was not sure about CK2, the game everyone was raving about so much, so I waited until it was like €7 oder €9. Bought it. Enjoyed it a lot. Bought several expansion packs for €30 total.

Combat Mission is a game I love as well. But I don't agree with paying full price for every small installment when I had CM: Barbarossa to Berlin, still my favourit, covering the entire Eastern Front. It was the last one I have bought.

Which one is CMANO? Afghanistan?

I'm like you when it comes to the new CMx2 games and modules. I just bought one and that was the Italian campaign because I wanted more than just the Germans to fight. It's ok but you play more of a "are they there or are they" than you did in the original and in the original you get to see more of the action instead of just red tracers in the sky flying everywhere.

I guess I just don't like the new spotting system. I enjoyed the borg spotting of the original and always will I guess. Plus, when you bought a theater in the original you got the "whole" theater not just pieces of it and then modules of the rest of it for $35 or more.

I figured it up one time and if they make all the theaters and modules they talk about over there it will be upwards of $600 for the whole thing. I'm not payin that for any game or series. Well, maybe Norbsoft's if he makes an Ancients series. [&o]
He makes the best tactical strategy game of them all imho. Never enjoyed any so much as his and his AI.

Will other games in the Matrix store be added and taken out as the sale goes forward? Thanks

Not sure, but now is a good time to be a first-time Matrix wargame fan. I see from posts that they are attracting new customers. Meanwhile, the Old Guard stands ready. SOW-N is pretty good, so far [;)]

Admit I did pick up EUIV Art of War for $5. But like many of you, already have all the "better" games.

Have fun!

I'm curious too--- will there be more Matrix flash sales after Pandora? I already grabbed the game I knew I would buy (CW2), but there are a couple I'm borderline on purchasing, but would buy if Steam did their flashing lights and count-down clock thing. I know, I'm easy. But really Steam does makes these sales surprisingly fun, said as someone who constantly clicked on a robot icon today doing damage to unlock future discounts tomorrow...

I picked up Graviteam Tactics and some of the DLC for it on day 1 of the sale. Looks like an interesting game, Ukrainian I believe. Most of the DLC is East Front based (and that's good) but they have an interesting DLC "Shield of the Prophet" that I'm looking forward to playing.

From the steam page:

In the "Shield of the Prophet" DLC, you can become an active participant in the alternative history of the Soviet invasion into Afghanistan in 1979.

The premise is as follows:
Iran's leadership is beginning to develop a plan of "exporting the Islamic revolution" in Afghanistan.
Taking advantage of the weakness of the central government of Afghanistan and the favorable geopolitical situation, in June 1979, Iran began a full-scale military invasion into the border provinces of Afghanistan.

In response, the Soviet Union began mobilizing the armed forces in Afghanistan, in order to prevent the overthrow of the pro-Soviet government in Afghanistan.

The war begins between Iran and the Soviet Union for the control of Afghanistan ...

I also picked up Homeworld Remastered - for under £10 it seemed like too good of a bargain.

Cheers,

If you just browse the store here from A to Z you can see a lot of the sales. There's quite a bit in there.

If you don't own it already, Advanced Tactics Gold is a great buy at $14.99. Has the best random game engine of any game I own. A new update is releasing soon that adds a TO&E editor and auto reinforcements. It is already available in a "private" beta in the ATG forum.

Command:MANO is available for the next 2 days for $39.

One wonders if maybe Brother Against Brother will be showing up there too at sometime?

I need to reinstall SpaceChem, I think I got it back when I was in school and things got too hectic to want to come home and solve difficult puzzles for "fun". Now I'm at a point where something like that would be a lot more relaxing.

I picked up Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, it's only $10 right now. I figure it's worth that just for the single player campaign. I tried my hand at the online stuff back when the game first came out and it was fun, but same situation as SpaceChem. Might try my hand at 1v1 play again.

Whoa, really? So you can set up template divisions? Does it make reinforcements automatic or at least easier. I want to love ATG so badly as the idea is fantastic, but messing with unit construction and reinforcement just gets so tedious after a certain point.

Edit: After actually clicking the link [:D] I see that that's exactly what it does! Very exciting!

SpaceChem and Antichamber have been highlights of this sale for me so far (out of the ones I've gotten around to playing at least). Picked up Tidalis (and Bionic Dues to round out my Arcen collection) as well as a load of other puzzle games all for cheap. :D

Well enough of us seem to have played it on this thread. So what's harder, winning Space Chem or getting a PHD from MIT?

As far as I can say, I hit a brick wall in the mid-20s levels, but then again I never tried to get a PHD from MIT.

Haha, well, I haven't gotten that far into yet. Can see it getting pretty involved though. :D

It is not on steam yet, but Big Pharma is a great puzzle game. Reminds me a lot of Factorio which is one of my personal favorites even if it is still in alpha.

Picked up an early access game on a small discount called Battle Brothers that looked my sort of thing (it is). Not really waiting on much his year, just Frozen Cortex, and I might finally pick up Endless Legends.

Well, I'm getting screwed now during the Summer sale. I had bought EU:IV but I cannot see the letters in those little boxes and I tried everything. So, I had to return it on their new return policy. Come to find out though I have to wait "DAYS" for my refund which will only be Steam credits anyways and I can't buy anything else on the Steam sale because that is my allotment of funds for computer stuff this month.

I definitely know how Rhonda feels in this category. [>:] So, I probably won't get my refund until "after" the good sales are all gone or after the sale altogether. Just something else to be angry about Steam.
