Morale

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Morale

Post by joemann »

I have played a couple of scenarios and I have the impression that the moralebar in the status report does not help in judging when to withdraw a unit. It seems to remain stable for a period of time ( while losses anf fatigue increase) and then suddenly it collapses. I am not saying that this is unrealistic but just that for information purposes it is less relevant than the lossesbar and the fatiguebar. If this is correct at what stage do losses and fatigue become critical?

The morale bar is impacted from the various bonus in particular from the support bonus (you can see this well if you experiment using a unit far from the others); this help to keep the morale stable more time until the losses are not too much high to be compensated and the possibilty of a sudden rout become more probable
