Ship R&D

Post by Fallschirmjager »

I dont think this will be in the game...but I might as well ask

One of the coolest things about PTO2 was ship R&D and building and naming of new ships

Wish this could get into WitP in some capacity

That's the same kind of thing I was wondering about. In my post about technology/dev. I have addressed that as well, but, just my personal opinion, R&D should be implemented because of the fact time period of this game is so long and it just makes the game a lot better. Just my personal preference but I would love to see the combination of HOI R&D & diplomatic model, PTO II R&D, and diplomatic model. Although I am not sure about the diplomatic model, I am certain that the R&D would be highly appreciated by all of us gamers because no game has ever combined a great R&D and a great playing mechanism, and WITP could possibly be the first if implemented.

Another thing... Remember how we could upgrade ships with new weapons on PTO II? I would love to see this in Witp as well, but perhaps unlike PTO II ability to control what to upgrade (ie more AA, more Torpedoes, etc..)

Also, it seems to me alot of people have hit on the aircraft and ship R&D but no one has hit on the ground forces R&D, and that was definitely a huge factor in the war, and it would be great to see an HOI type of R&D for ground forces.

Not to take away from the game, and the game is great but don't get me wrong, the R&D, upgrades, and other factors were very crucial in winning the war, and although it may seem unimportant in the game, I think it is, because it adds depth, replayabiligy, and another dimention to the game. SO PLEASE! IMPLEMENT A GOOD R&D FOR SHIP, AIRCRAFT, GROUND FORCES AND OTHER SMALL BUT VERY IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF THE GAME. I would like to see Witp be the first "complete game" to model all aspects of the war and have enormous uncertainty/playability, because so many games in the past have never been able to live up to the hype that it was the "first complete game".

just my .02
