My Waterloo inspired picture

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

My Waterloo inspired picture

Post by Agathosdaimon »

I started this a little while ago but now with the anniversary approaching shortly i wanted to finish this - though it is such a large undertaking but this is where i am up to yet - its i guess a more romanticised version of events perhaps regarding Earl of Uxbridge with his Heavy Cavalry attacking the French Cuirassiers

you painted this?

if so it's very very good, you are a true artist, don't like all this modern rubbish, paint spills and dead sheep dipped in acid, or a un made bed etc, give me a good old brush work anyday

yes i created it - i do teh drawing through a digital tablet - so its not entirely traditional in its medium though my approach is the same as it would be with drawing as i use a pen to draw the picture on the tablet

well it's a good as i've ever seen, your a pro so well done, it really looks good and i'm not just saying it, as i can't paint at all so know next to nothing, but i know what is pleasing to look at and what imo is good, and yours is better than good is great, so well done and thanks for sharing, contact the game makers and i'm sure they may use the work in something as it's good enough to be pro work imo again...

Love the new picture! I'm going to have to get my paint brushes out. I've done a few pictures of individuals but nothing like your superb battle scenes. Very inspiring.

the first one in the thread i have been working on all week - and admittedly it is still not finished - i am currently going over it again and extending the left side, adding some wounded, dead and retreating cavalry - this will take a bit longer to do as i unfortunately cant spend time doing it when i have to do other jobs in order to earn money - its a very paltry living for now,
