Probably because Sunburn exchanged the older file with the new one. Only the new one from May 26 doesn't include descriptions anymore, since it is an image pack update - as stated in the edited first post - and not a combined images/description package.

Sorry. We'll get that fixed.

Any update on the fate of the descriptions? Is there an older version I can download from somewhere? This page (http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=1876) has absolutely no descriptions available, the "Database Images & Descriptions Add-on" contains only images. I'm not sure where else to look.

Sorry for that, my bad!

Updated the Downloads page with link for the new descriptions file, prepared by Steven.

Hmmm. Bandwidth exceeded on the original link, mirror seems to be working though. Have you guys considered seeding a torrent for these files?

Copied from the RC thread:

Will the Chinook HC4/5/6 be added to the United Kingdom (RAF), and the Merlin HC4 to the Royal Navy (RAF Merlin HC3s have been given to the Commando Helicopter Force and will be upgraded to Merlin HC4)? Also the Merlin Crowsnest upgrade will be designated ASaC5, not 1/2.

To add to that the UK doesn't use US designations in front of its equipment (CH-47D, C-130 etc). For Reaper the MQ9 designation is added after the name. Only minor aesthetic differences.

Not sure if this is the right place for this (apologies if not) but I'm having an issue with the pictures and description- namely, several DB entries have the wrong picture and/or description.
For example, the AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM P3I.3 (2007) entry has the correct picture but the decsription text of the HAWK/I-HAWK SAM, or the GBU-44/B Viper Strike has the description of the MGM-52C Lance SRBM.
Is this an issue on my end (i.e. I messed something up when installing the pictures/descriptions) or is the description pack "broken"?
Thanks for any help!

Thanks for pointing out the error with the GBU-44/B Viper Strike. I've got the LANCE database entry incorrectly associated with it, and will get it fixed in the next database release. The AIM-120 entry should not have a weapons entry at all, as I haven't written it. What I suspect has happened is this: several releases ago, there was an issue with HAWK entries and photos being incorrectly associated with a variety of weapon systems. I think we got those cleaned up in the database releases However, I suspect that when you updated your database files, you simply did a "replace." This resulted in only database items that either a new image/description or files that never had an image/description in your database were altered. However, files from the earlier database release that had an incorrect image/description but do not yet have the correct image/description associated with them were not corrected.

When a new image or description package is released, you need to throw away your old image and decription files and then reinstall with the new update, which is always a comprehensive update (hence the large size). I didn't make that clear in the README instructions, so I'll also update those in the next update. Thanks for pointing this out.

Thanks for the quick answer! I'll re-install the description and image files when I get home.
I'll keep an eye out for any more database errors as well- anything I can do to help.

Quick question: do I need to re-install the DB image packs again after new CMANO 1.08 patch installation?

That is correct, if you haven't installed either the image or the description packages, you must install them separately from your game installation, as they are not part of the base game installation.
