Malvinas 1982 Scenario: Exocetless Etendards?

Post by travcrouse »

I'm about 2 days in to this scenario playing as the Argentinians.
Does someone know why the Etendards at Rio Grande have all their weapons loadouts greyed-out?
Sure could use those Exocets!

I haven't played or looked at the scenario, but I know the Argee's only had very few Exocets and only a very few pilots were trained to use them, maybe that's part or all of the reason.

Yea - I'm reading "100 Days" by Admiral Woodward right now. The Brits suspected the Argies had maybe 5 or 6.

I was wondering if the empty magazines at Rio Grande were a maybe a random event that fired (?)
The LDGP bombs, the Magics, and 68mm rockets are all greyed-out and zero quantity. The only loadouts you can give the Etendards are Ferry, Reserve or Maintenance.

No es bueno!

Only 5 planes and 5 missiles arrived in november, 1981.
The remaining 9 planes and (15 ?) more Am-39 missiles arrived after between august an december 1982, with 80 Magic I, Matra bombs and unguided rockets.
I haven´t played the scenario, I´ll give it a try.

Yea, hellfish, I just saved a new copy of the scenario and added some Exocets for the Etendards. Surely they were operational during the time period covered in the scenario (01May-07May): the Sheffield was hit on 04May.

Even without the Exocets, I'm giving the Brits a run for their money! Losing Skyhawks left and right though...

Just keep in mind that the supply of Super Etendards and Exocets is very critical if you want an historically accurate scenario. The Exocet (and all anti-ship missiles) proved to be much more dangerous than anyone thought up until the Falklands. The Falklands was a real eye opener for all navies.
