Pacific Theatre / July 2nd - 10th 1945
Allied transports and escorts hit minefields around Oita. This resulted several ships being sunk in various classes.
A good reminder that those minefields are definately not useless.
In good news allied forces have captured Matsuyama and are preparing to move forward.
So, I would say you win some and lose some since those ships that were sunk came from Matsuyama.
Allied bombers have hit various airfields in order to destroy some of the assets of japanese airforce.
In Burma sector we launched yet another ground assault towards Moulmein but this failed as expected....

...so japanese do carry on with good firepower even later stages. These troops have held firm frontline for more than 2 months now and no sign of them getting overrun.
In further south allied ships landed troops at Mergui and the base was overrun swiftly. Now we have beachhead close to Bangkok and route towards Singapore.
