Turn 39 GHC Armaments: 1,000 Manpower: 168,000 VP: 216

HQBUs used: 12
Armament Pts. Destroyed = 73
Heavy Industry Destroyed = 47
Factories: KV-1,BA-10,T-50
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 =
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions: 19
Brigades: 1
SU:
AP total: 195
Stavka OOB: 6,913,000 - 11,000 GHC OOB: 3,588,000 + 73,000

AGN will be basically static unless Stavka gets stupid so last picture until I spring a surprise. Normal reserve reaction setup using infantry regiments in 2nd line. I will probably build a 3rd line with FZ’s before the end of summer IF it looks like I cannot VP out.

AGC pockets 10 divisions and 7 brigades which = 135 AP’s. AGC did not have to use 8 Panzer Divisions so AGC did 2 HQBU’s and moved down 7 infantry divisions. So hopefully the pocket holds, infantry divisions clear pocket and AGC can possible pocket more units next turn.

AGS is able to farm morale every turn because of Stavka’s general set-up of weak brigades in the front line with strong divisions in 2-5 line in reserve mode. This is great for infantry morale as in many cases I can pack in 6 divisions per battle and many get 2 wins per turn.

Turn 41 GHC Armaments: 8,000 Manpower: 50,000 VP: 223

HQBUs used: 12
Armament Pts. Destroyed = 73
Heavy Industry Destroyed = 47
Factories: KV-1,BA-10,T-50
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 =
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions: 31
Brigades: 15
SU:
AP total: 385
Stavka OOB: 6,841,000 0,000 GHC OOB: 3,689,000 -5,000
No Pockets this turn, just setting the table for the spring turns. During the spring I will keep prepping for summer, I know what my objectives are and its not all about land. I need to pocket units, but also take another 32 VP’s to trip a win. Moscow of course is not out of the question, I need to keep eating up Red Army then I can try for Moscow.
I should be able to stay on the offensive until spring 43 at a min.

Turn 47 GHC Armaments: 13,000 Manpower: 30,000 VP: 223

HQBUs used: 12
Armament Pts. Destroyed = 73
Heavy Industry Destroyed = 47
Factories: KV-1,BA-10,T-50
Manpower Pts over run during 1942 =
Russian Units Destroyed after November 1st 1941
Corp:
Divisions: 31 (6)
Brigades: 15 (17)
SU:
AP total: 385
Stavka OOB: 7,172,000
GHC OOB: 3,840,000

Nice little pocket to start spring. I could have easly punched through all the defensive lines,
but I just pocket for now until summer. Good solid medium size pockets, that pocket = 3 turns of AP’s
at least so I am ahead of the curve already.

shame as i was wanting to see how he did as we were close to the same turn count before he stopped sending turns.

The make up of the 2 armys are very different.

He has ant army with very deep fort belts, allot of reserve reactions but far lower CV then you do per hex. Very easy for me to get pockets every turn, he has far more AP's and manpower then you.
This set-up is old school what most people use. I faced it allot in the past, you just pacman (many small pockets)
every turn and after a while you grind down his AP's, generally Russian players start spring with 450 banked and allot of arm pts.
In the past in many cases I been able to defeat this strategy by late summer and then VP out.

You have very high CV but paper then lines,no AP's, no arm pts banked ect you built completely different units.
A few pockets of any size and your done. The first pocket I formed but you broke out of was game set match. I had not done any HQBUs and did not expect to so easy punch through lines, you had 2 weak hexes 1 strong once strong on dropped it was over.
If I get a few pockets you cant recover or have little chance of it as your industry is tied up until end of year because of what you built.
I have fased this before and been able by late summer to get the pockets and things go down hill very fast after that. One or two pockets and your lines become very paper then.

Best way is to do both, but generally high CV stacks with depth only happens vs a poor to average German player. There is no way for German to crack lines vs that

Actually armaments is no longer my issue- its all manpower now which is very unhistorical.......

Think this is reflected by at this point in the game being more than 2M men shorter over historical Soviet replacement rates.

The Mistake I made on the first pocket was I didnt extend my line south enough, however you got overambitious and bit off more than you could chew I had two very close attacks later on that if they had succeeded would have allowed me to rout 5 of your C/M divisions but a key one failed and I had to go with just push backs through Zocs. An lets be honest you didnt have the chance to do a HQBU your tanks were to busy running back and forth across the Don like it was a stream lol- believe me I factored that into how I played.

An yes Ive built a ton of crap units to, a ton of them- issue is since in effect you can never stop a german encirclement just delay it you eventually wipe out several turns of APs its just a matter of how long I can delay it happening. Look at your last encirclement you got like a ton of rifle BDEs most of the encirclement---crap units.

The principle issue Im seeing in the Game is the German OOB is much to strong compared to the Soviet OOB this is allowing completely unhistorical offensive ability for the Germans. That really is the critical issue, as its allowing you to stay very strong along almost the entire line and superman strong in your offensive area. This is complete fantasy for summer 1942. This is either because the Germans are getting to many replacements over historical or not enough casualties from battle/attrition. An yes the Soviets should take more losses as well but when you figure the baked in reduction of over 2 million men the Soviet player doesnt get compared to historical that really isnt an issue, as in effect the game is auto crediting the German player a free 2 million soviet casualties in the first year of the war they dont even have to kill/capture. Not to mention since your 2M short in the first 12 months I can only imagine over the long game how many millions that is going to short the Soviet army. Most likely it compounds to probably be close to 8 million fewer replacements than historical especially as the Soviets get fewer manpower replacements per manpower site as the war goes on.
