Where are you getting the 550 number from?? I'm talking just the number of infantry.

273 (ID) + 3x91 (3 RGTs) = 546

OK, you had said it was the division plus two rgt. So you got the rgt that starts in San Fran to Pearl before it was lost? That is where the other 100 comes from.
So it will take about 5 months to rebuild a division now and 4 months after 7/42. Not 14 to 18 months (must be that Scandinavian math). [:D]

Both of us will have two full divisions (24 & 25) come 1/43 that cost very little in PP. Meanwhile, John & Nick will have to leave troops behind in Hawaii for garrison duty to counter a potential invasion that may never come. Thank you MichaelM for the beta patch fix many, many months ago that allows players to buy out and rebuild destroyed troops. [&o]

Indeed! [&o]
Have to be really careful to not lose another US ID though...that would wreck the pools... [X(]

Just another reason to use the Marines.

Indeed on that too. When you need something done send in the Marines. [:D] Especially true in 43 and later when US IDs simply lack staying power against dug in enemies.

Not much happening.
------------------------
Pacific
------------------------
The subs surrounding PH retire to various new locations. I´ll keep a decent fleet of subs based on the WC. They will act as early warning and operate around PH.
------------------------
China
------------------------
I need to try and find out where Nick is shifting for his next thrust.
------------------------
Burma
------------------------
The Imperial Guards show up at Lashio. I have the weak Chinese 6th Corps (80 something AV) and the BFF BDE. Apparently this was enough to make Nick pause as 3 more units are approaching. Lashio will fall in the first attack. Next roadblock is Paoshan. 580 AV behind level 2 forts will require a big commitment. Another 370 AV is 2 weeks out.
------------------------
Java
------------------------
Batavia falls.
This frees up the 5th and 18th ID for him to use elsewhere.

Japanese Intentions

------------------------
Japanese Forces
------------------------
PH - 6 IDs (4th, 16th, 21st, 33rd, 48th, + 3 Tank RGTs)
Java 2 IDs (5th, 38th)
Burma 1 ID (IGD)
Mindanao 1 ID (19th)
Only about 45 days left of invasion bonus. The question is where the freed up troops will go. The PH troops + the Java troops are now free for operations. That is 8 full IDs and roughly 3600 AV in total ([X(]). While this sounds like a lot Nick has some work to do "back home".
-Northern OZ
-SOPAC
-Luzon
-Reinforce Burma
Unless I missed an ID he currently have only 1 ID + Tank RGT in Burma which is dangerously weak. This he will probably strengthen up with at least another ID here.
PH and surrounding islands need some kind of garrison. So does the Gilberts.
Luzon is turning into a real fortress. Almost 3000 AV here now. All recovered, prepping and digging in. His bombers keeps fort building suppressed but lack of AA means I burn almost no supply. He will have to deal with this eventually as I have both naval search over the SCS + a very good sub base in the middle of the Japanese SLOC.
He also have Darwin + SOPAC left to deal with. I also have at least 1 unit prepping for Perth.
So lots of loose ends still to tie up....

Can you spot any convoys heading back to Hong Kong/Honshu?
Would it be possible to sneak a pair of destroyers back in to Luzon somehow?

Have you put any effort into resupplying Luzon?
The lack of high Nav High Aggrssion sub commanders early leads me to put all with crappy commanders on transport duty.
If you prioritize the good commanders into the low cargo capacity subs you can concentrate the crappy commanders in the high cargo capacity subs, add the Argonaut, Nautilus and Narwal and set up a pretty decent sized transport TF capable of delivering 500-1000 supply per mission.

More or less. [:)]
Having some troubles with maintaining the CATs though as Nick is hitting AFs all over Luzon. I´m dangerously low on CATs since the PH strikes early on. I have to rail them around like a maniac which of course hinder search.

Pretty ashamed to admit it..but no. [:(]
I´ll follow your advice though! Should have been doing that from day 1.

Scenario 1 has PH garrison at 356 for Japan. DBB might be different, but stock is directional. Essentially a division.

Hans' advice is sound - IMO it's by far and away the best use of all those Yankee subs with dodgy torpedoes. They can deliver 36 or 48t each (and later 60 for Gatos and over 100 for the Argonaut, Nautilus and Narwal conversions). Quantities delivered per month depend upon the distance to the supply source, but early in the game I pull all the extra supplies from Cayagan and the small Philippine islands dotted around, then places like Tarakan/Balikpapan, Makassar etc then from northern/Eastern Oz. In an earlier game, by Mid April I was delivering around 2000t each drop around 3 drops/2 months. Went a long way to extending the PI resistance.

Are you sure about that? Checked both DBB and Stock and they both show 80? Unless I misunderstand how to read it? I hope you are right though for 80...that is pretty pathetic for garrison Hawaii....[8|]

Yeah, as I said I should have done that from day 1. Thought never crossed my mind...kind of kicking myself right now. [:(]

It's still early yet for Burma. I didn't even start on Burma until February in my game. There's nothing you can do to stop him, so why rush?
I know gospel is to wait to capture Luzon until later, but he has to start sometime... he should probably start soon.
With Batavia down, I would look out near Diego Garcia or Perth/SW Aus.

Well, with only 1 ID in Burma I would worry if I was playing the Japanese. You could potentially face the 3 best allied divisions + a lot of Indian BDEs even this early?
EDIT: Agree on Diego and Perth. I think he will come for Perth, Darwin and SOPAC.
