The system of Sivarkus and its location in the galaxy
2100:
The Fironez World Unity with the leadership of Solverus Yorpa Serfu, the monarch of Maravia,
reach out towards the stars and begin construction of the SFSS (Sivarkus Federal Space Station).
A new era has begun for the Fironez race.
At the end of the year the construction of the Sivarkus Star, a construction ship, begins.
This with the ambition to create a much needed Steel mine on Marchom,
the moon of Sivarkus, following the drain of the steel veins in the mines of southern Xal.
With the aim to travel to the different planets around the solar system to widen the federations
resources availability the research of much more efficient engines begun. After reviewing the federal
research budget and efficiency it was soon discovered that for this research project to be finished
within any sort of reasonable time the research capacity has to be increased. This led to the
construction of the FERC (Federal Energy Research Center).
2101:
At the end of the fifth month a small craft is detected in orbit around Sivarkus by radars out of
nowhere. A broadcast from the vessel is soon picked up all around the world.
It states "Greetings to our victims! This is the ship Tenacious Courage of the Firoz Security. You may
have noticed that we are about to attack you. But for a small price of 344 credits per month we could
avoid this unnecessary violence. Are you ready to pay up?"
The Federal government leading monarchs quickly assemble at a crisis meeting. This is intelligent life
from another world opening communications with them, and it is not friendly. Opal wanted to launch all
missile weapons available but Luyen made it clear that if such an action was to be played, the missiles
would not be able to reach orbit before the pirates would be able to attack. And even if not, it is not
certain such weapons would have any effect against an extraterrestrial spacecraft. After a few hours of
arguing the government agrees to pay the 'protection' fee. The ship shortly afterwards begin emitting a
strange energy signal before disappearing.
This was a completely unexpected event embarrassed the government and all leaders agreed that from now
on, the federation will have a dedicated military presence around its home world, to protect from such
fiends which threaten federal sovereignty.
2102:
The construction of the SFSS is finished and its completion is celebrated worldwide. This new frontier
created many new industries and gave a boost to the planets economy. It will now serve as a base of
operations for trade and military in space for the federation. With the construction of the SFSS
complete private investors quickly surged to be the first to hold in their possession, a spaceship to
fuel their need for commerce expansion. The first ship to be created was the Resolution of Sivarkus, a
small freighter controlled by the Svalian Trade Republic. One of the larger corporations on Sivarkus
originating from a trade republic in the northern swamps.
Another ship was completed shortly afterwards. The Cryptic Partisan, owned by Umbalian Mines, a
slightly smaller corporation mainly focusing on mineral production. To no one's surprise the ship was
quickly sent off to extract iridium and gold from the moon, Marchom, in orbit.
Sivarkus at this moment
On the 19th of Aprilthe construction ship Sivarkus Star was completed and ready for operation. As the
first state owned space ship the government decided to put a captain in charge of the constructor. This
was easier said than done. It took over a week to find someone the kingdoms could agree to be recruited
for space operations. In the end a captain Osu Lapuri was from C'merke merchant navy (which is really a
paramilitary force) was chosen.
On the 7th of June the FERC (Federal Energy Research Centre) was finished. It was quickly put to work
at researching proton ionization. A proposal put forward by the Luyen royal scientists. A proposal
autonomously accepted by all monarchs.
In late June the Sivarkus Star reached the moon Marchom and begun the construction of the mining
station. In an attempt to save some money that was already being trained for the federal treasury the
federation offered the mining station to be controlled by a corporation instead of the state. A offer
quickly accepted by Umbalian Mines which was ,at that very moment, already there conducting mining
operations with mining vessels.
The Kingdom of Opal, backed by a number of other smaller kingdoms, soon came out questioning the
arrangement made with the foul pirates calling themselves the Firoz Security. Solverus Yorpa Serfu
explained once more that until the federation had a defence force positioned in orbit nothing could be
done about the situation.
Corporations and rich investors in the federal space program begun requesting the state to scan the
planets, moons and asteroids around the solar system. This so that dedicated mining ships could be sent
out to extract the resources present to be sold on Sivarkus afterwards. By this initiative the Yorpa
Surfu with the aid of the federal government begun the construction of the exploration ship The
Morevius. A ship named after the famous explorer by the same name, who explored the isles which is now
known as the kingdom of Oeiran. It was completed a two months later and was immediately sent off to
scan asteroid SJ809.
In October the mining vessels sent to mine Marchom was reporting their return home. These are the first
manned vessels returning with large amounts of minerals from another celestial body.
In November the mining station on the moon was completed and the Umbalian Mines immediately started
constructing huge freighter ships meant to haul the steel and gold from the base. This created a small
boom in the economy. The federal government quickly realised the potential of this and made a plan to
build mining stations all around the solar system and maybe, one day, the galaxy.
