Text Glitch in Battle Reports

Hi everyone,
I have not posted before and need some advice.
I'm afraid I uninstalled my WIP AE after getting text in the battle reports with black blobs and other unreadable characters mixed into the reports.
My PC is i7-4790k,4.0GHz,16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 970 Video Card. I only purchased the game a few months ago and installed and started playing it, but it was spoiled by this weird text glitch.

Any Ideas please?

I probably should not have uninstalled the game, but It was spoiled for me at least for the time being.

That has happened to me when i Alt-tab to another program in the middle of watching the combat replay, but is usually ok if i restart the game (didn't need to re-install or reboot PC or anything). The game does work, should be great even on recent PC's

That happens with the video card on one of my computers. The video memory is getting corrupted. Switching out to another program can cause it. It can also happen on game start (as it does with my computer).

It helps to play in windowed mode. You can set the screen resolution so it takes up most of the screen. When the video glitch happens, I select a hex with nothing in it (no units or bases), usually in the middle of the ocean, then I minimize the window and bring it back. That resets the video memory. When playing and I want to switch to a different window, I click on an empty hex first. This prevents the problem from happening while playing.

It seems to be video card specific. It never happens on my other computer with a different video card.

Sorry but I still have the same problem with the graphics glitches on all text fields. I have tried using the compatibility mode for Win Xp as I am using Win7 on a 6-8 month old PC.

I was not able to play the game in a windowed mode so I couldn't try the suggested min/max screen display workaround suggested. I have only just started a Scen 6 game, but the game is unplayable at present. I don't want to shelve this expensive game.

Any other ideas please?
