To help with the general effort of adding more about Africa to the database, I have tried to track down as much information as I could find (mostly from Jane's Fighting Ships, but also some from Wikipedia and other sources) about Ghana's navy. Thanks for considering these!

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana_Navy) says that two German Albatros-class FACS (P 27 Sebo and P 31 Dzata) were transferred in 2010 (so, Operational dates would be 2010-present, I suppose). I’m guessing the data would be the same as that listed in the database for the Albatros-class from 1988-2004 (listed as #1386)


P 33 Stephen Otu

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana_Navy) also says a South Korean Chamsuri-class was donated in 2011 (Operational dates: 2011-present). Here is the Wikipedia data for the ship:

Wikipedia says two were purchased from Germany in 2012 (Operational dates: 2012-present); these appear to be the same as the ones in #1381 in the database. As far as I can tell from the one image I could find, the Exocet missiles are still there, but I could be mistaken.

Some corrections for the Chinese AGI #2565 - Type XXX [851 Dongdiao].

To start, the DB name should be changed to Type 815 [851 Dongdiao]. (In case this matters, the ship was commissioned as Dongdiao 232.)

Regarding its armament, there's also something to do. The ship already is equipped with two 25mm/60 Twin AAA guns which is right. Ingame, the AAAs are placed facing forward but the ship actually carries those on top of the aft hangar looking in the opposite direction. On the forward deck, there should be a single Twin-barreled 37mm canon, possibly the 37mm/63 Type 76 Twin DP.

Last, when it comes to the aircraft facilities, I noticed two things: First, in reality the ship is equipped with a hangar as opposed to the game. Second, Looking at some pictures of those aircraft facilities, I doubt that neither the flightdeck nor the hangar is big enough to host large aircraft.

I have read through the various articles available on the Type 055 cruiser being built by the Chinese and tried to work up a preliminary version that could be included in the database. Obviously, as more information comes out, this will need to be revised, but at least it gets the cruiser in the database so it can be used in scenarios. Thanks for considering this one.

All variants of the RN Type 45 Destroyer appear to be unable to detect ballistic missiles.

The S1850M (SMART-L) Radar on the Type 45 and various other European ships is capable of tracking ballistic missiles at ranges from 1000-2000km depending on source.

Is this an oversight or is there a reason why this capability was not implemented ?

Here is what I was able to glean from Jane's Fighting Ships. It looks likes Angola's navy pretty much collapsed around 1992 or 1993. Since 1993 they have had nothing but a few patrol boats, and I have not been able to find many details on these, but I'll keep looking.

According to Wikipedia, "On 5 September 2014, the Angolan Minister of Defence João Manuel Lourenço and Brazil`s Minister of Defence Celso Amorim signed a Memorandum of Understanding as part of Angola`s Naval Power Development Program (PRONAVAL). The MOU specifies that Angola will acquire seven Macaé-class patrol vessel, four to be built in Brazil, and three in Angola. The Brazilian EMGEPRON will have the lead in the project, overseeing the Angolan shipyard and training in addition to overall project management." Information on these will be included below.
