Navy only?

Post by avers246 »

hi guys, I have noticed that in WITPAE, that I control, every branch of the military, I was wondering, is there a way to just control one branch and the AI controls the rest, like on PTO II?

No, AE is super micro game. An unsupervised TF can mean disaster. Clickfest, double check and then pray for the best.

The only things you can put onto the AI from your side are your subs and convoys, and most of us agree that certainly the subs are a BAD idea to put under AI control, as are most of the merchant ships you have... Hal

If you're doing a PBEM, you can get a partner to play the Army.

Well that's too bad, a lot of the army things in the game I don't care about, can anyone direct me to a game that does do that? Hopefully other than PTO.

Nope. The best you can do is have a 'quiet China'. Everything else is up to you. I for one do not bother with pilots that much. I set everything not on the front to 100% training and every so often pull the pilots out into the reserves. While other players monitor and 'play the pilot game' with a lot more attention than I do.

So you can 'chose' what areas you really want to focus on and just let other areas 'be inactive'. However that means just that, nothing is going to happen in those areas unless you 'do' something.

You can turn subs, TFs to auto control that you do not want. You can also pile a lot of xAKs into Osaka/San Francisco and they will be run by the AI through the Auto Convoy system. Will any of this work as good as you doing it? No. But as the Allies against the AI, it will not matter that much [:)]
