Ask the hipsters, without context, what a "B-side" was. Crickets.

As I still consider myself a "youngster", I can't in good conscience answer you what a "B-side" is.

Starting to feel old though ... [:'(]

It's the opposite of the A-side. [:)]

A 45 RPM record had one song on each of two sides. A-side, B-side. The A-side was the "hit", or what the record company hoped would be the hit. The B-side was filler. But music history is replete with B-sides that became hits, even huge ones.

Sorry if I didn't manage to get through - being 52 yo with a couple of LP players behind me, I know perfectly well what the A- & B-side was, but I don't want to admit that [:D]

Anyway, kudos to you for the flawless explanation though [;)]

How could you know what the B-side is, Per? Did ABBA *ever* produce anything that wasn't huge hit potential? [:'(]

The insert to be able to play a 45 rpm record on a turntable spindle designed for a 33-1/3 rpm record.

Here in Australia we grew up with 45's with normal sized holes so we didn't need 'em. [:'(]

The fly in the ointment was when the occasional American disc* slipped through and it was a fun job trying to position it exactly on the centre* of the platter... [:(]

Cheers,

So that bizarre, warbling noise coming from that "Men at Work" album wasn't a function of malpositioning on the turntable? [:'(]

I don't know about the others, but on old Fords, a matchbook cover was perfect for setting point gap...

Howdy. You do realize that you don't qualify as a geezer yet, don't you? You haven't even gone through that empty nest bit yet.
