Surrendered units

Post by Ironclad »

It would be helpful to have a list of units that surrender as a battle progresses, for both your own and the enemy. I don't know whether this information is available at present - beyond the flash message that appears during on-screen battles. I had a quick look at the battle history reports and couldn't spot it there and forgot to check whether it shows up for your own forces in the OOB (don't think it does). I seem to remember an answer on the forum that captured troops in units that surrender aren't included in the casualty totals. If so that would make it even more useful to have an ongoing record of surrenders.

That's a good idea. We're just discussing features to try to add for the next game, and I'll make sure we talk about this one.

Thanks. Also good to know that you are discussing the next game as I'm very much looking forward to further BAB editions.

Not only discussing the next game, but working on it: I've been dealing with the OOB's for 2+ weeks now, off and on. Too early to say in public just what the next release will be: WCS and Matrix decided to change our planned release schedule a bit, so we will not have our next release be "Lee Takes Command," as I'd previously stated. More information at a later date. (I'll probably next have news on this when testing begins. Which requires some more OOB work and a lot of map-editing on my part...)

Adding to what Eric wrote, it was always our plan to improve the BAB engine by including new features in each release -- some ideas we had that were lower priorities than those we did include in BAB#1, and others suggestions from the forum. So please keep the "Wish List" thread humming with ideas, because a number of those will be added in the future, some in BAB#2, others in BAB#3, etc.

Intriguing now you've got me wondering which later big battles will appear in the next BAB. I know which one would really get the prospective audience buzzing. [:)]

Well, if the one you think might be the next one is the one I think it is, then no, that's not the next one -- we'll have at least one other major battle before we get to that. But it will come.
