A couple of thoughts.

I can't say why the forum doesn't like that cut & paste, but maybe it is the '@' character coupled with your low post count? There have been serious problems with spambots in the past and I know they try very hard to keep the forums clean.

I looked through the thread and I don't see where you posted the switches you are using. Look at the shortcut you are clicking on to start the game. Right-click on it and click on Properties. In the Target box you will see the path and file name of the .exe you are calling (inside "" marks), plus any switches are are using (after the "").

Here is a cut and paste from another thread that shows how to properly format a Target entry:
ORIGINAL: mundus

Thanks Lokasenna

I have already tried that, but it did not change anything: "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\autorun.exe" -w -px1920 -py1080
This is an error. Do not reference autorun.exe. Change it to: War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe

In other words, what you have above should read:

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -px1920 -py1080

Now that might not be the final answer to fix the problem(s) you've run into, but it is the place to start.

This will help eliminate that you are, for example, calling autorun.exe instead of the game file directly. autorun.exe will start the game, but AFAIK it will NOT pass along any of the switches.

Next, you might try the -dd_sw switch. That tells the game to use software to emulate the Direct Drive stuff. I'm thinking that maybe the Direct Drive on your graphics card might have some incompatibility with the game.

We are going out now, but someone else might be around to help.

witpqs,
Yes I appear to be using "I:\Pacific War AE\autorun.exe" as my shortcut. It looks like I need to alter that.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you very much for all your help. I followed the advice and now my text glitches seems fixed.
I amended my shortcut target in properties and it worked.

Thank you again.
