Nice Surprise, Great Game!

In the age of Pike and Shot, mighty struggles erupted across Europe for causes religious, political or dynastic. The Thirty Years War raged across Germany and beyond, leaving devastation in its wake, but saw the rise of great commanders such as Count Tilly, Wallenstein and King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, and rapid developments in battlefield tactics.

Nice Surprise, Great Game!

I never had much interest in this game (or the time period, really). But when I saw they added a campaign layer, I decided to take the plunge. What a nice surprise! This is a seriously good game. One of those easy to get into, hard to master deals.

The battles feel right for the period. And the AI is quite good.
