Mayhemizer vs AllenK: The rematch

RE: Mayhemizer vs Allen K: The rematch
Italy requires 3 out of 4 prerequisites for their "surrender":
Rome in Allied hands.
1 City which is not Rome with 1 Printed Factory in Allied hands.
Tripoli in Allied hands.
Allied Garrison Value > Axis Garrison Value.
UK had Rome, Trieste (City with Factory), and Tripoli.

Long live the Yugoslav Army! Without them, this big achievement couldn't have been made...

How many Italian land and air units were in Italy? In other words, how much did the Axis lose? Were there any Germans in Italy? The Italian Fleet stayed at sea off the Italian coast, right? I see that the German air transport was in Palermo. Was the unit stacked with it German or Italian?
I thought I knew how to play this game....
RE: Mayhemizer vs Allen K: The rematch
Very few land units lost (about 4-5) and about 1 air unit. Only German unit in Italy was the Para. It's the unit stacked beneath the Air Trans.

Yes very much so.
When I was able to align Yugoslavia, I thought I could either have them sit passively and await to be conquered or let the units run amok in the Balkans. I figured they'd still be conquered but maybe in doing so they could throw a bit of a spanner in the Axis works. Little did I realise it would turn out to be more of a monkey wrench.
RE: Mayhemizer vs Allen K: The rematch
Any nice ships gained by the CW out of the construction, repair or production pools? And how many of those were destroyed during conquest? At least 10 BP of units were destroyed in the production pools to since those were the Italian builds this turn (and perhaps even the same number from last turn was lost too).
If we add this up, we are looking at least at a loss of between 30-40 build point on Italian units... If you add to this the loss of Italian resources and production for next turn (or two or three, depending on how long the CW can hold Rome), you are looking at a horrendous blow to the Axis war effort...
You are absolutely right by using the Yugoslavians in an offensive way. They are probably dead anyway, so why not have fun. And there's also the motto: the best defense is a good offense...

Germany got a decent BB (Roma) in the Construction pool and a CL in the repair pool. CW got a decent BB (Impero) A CL and sub in the Construction pool plus 3BB, 6 CA/CL and a sub in the repair pool. 2 other subs appeared ready for action in Plymouth.

J/A 41 Allied 1: Naval Air.
Beaufighters head from Malta to the 3-boxes in East and West Med.
CW sends out the usual convoy escorts. A Trans from Singapore loads Bombay Mil into the Arabian Sea 1-box. Trans takes Alexander from Gib back to Cardiff. Another Trans from Gib sails to US East Coast and picks up a Can Garr unit. Force H (4 CV, 3 BB & 5 CA) sails from Gib to West Med. Do the Axis wish to intercept?

I want to make comments here about future play, but since this is an active two player game, I do not want to make comments that might help one side or another without permission of the players.
Thus I ask if it is OK for me to make some comments about the future of the Italian front?

Fine with me.
One style of AAR I'd be interested in seeing how well it transfers to MWIF is the closed format where both sides run an AAR from their perspective and people can chose to follow both but not comment or one of the sides only and pitch in with the discussions. I've seen some fascinating AAR's on WITP: AE like this.

No interception.
Comments about this or future games are OK for me. I see the situation extremely bad for Euro Axis, all they can do is lose or make Allies pay and still lose

If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

The task force continues to the Italian Coast 2-box.
CP's head from Cypress to East Med and Italian Coast. I decline the intercepts as Mayhemizer will get the chance for a bash later.
Dutch Trans with Eng enters West Med from Gib. Intercept now?

On a 6, the intercept fails and the Trans puts into Malta. Amph from Malta loads the Inf and sails into West Med. On a 7, the intercept fails and the Amph sails to Genoa. Queens load Gort and sail from Liverpool to West Med. On a 5, the intercept fails. The Queens also put into Genoa.
US sends 3 BB's to Pearl.
All 3 Med areas available for combat. Allies decline East and West Med but initiate in the Italian Coast. The Whirlwind flies to the 0-box. Do the Italians wish to commit their sub?

Searches of Allies 4 and Axis 5 are unsuccessful. Axis can initiate in East and West Med. Do they wish to have a bash?

East Med: Searches of Axis 6 and Allies 7 are unsuccessful.
West Med: Hurricane from Gib flies to the 0-box. Both sides roll a 5 and that ends the naval proceedings.
Over to the east where USSR launches ground-strikes against 3 target hexes. Germany can intercept with 2 Ftr's. do any wish to scramble and where?

Only Bf109 intercepts trying to cover ARM HQ and lands 1 hex west of Bf110.
