Patch first

Forum dedicated to the Scourge of War Game set during the Napoleonic Wars. Scourge of War: Waterloo follows in the footsteps of its American Civil War predecessors and takes the action to one of the most famous battles in history. It is by far the most detailed game about the final battle of the War of the Seventh Coalition.

Patch first

Post by Gettysburg »

I vote for a patch bevor the release of the SDK. 2 month after the release of the beta patch is this my wish.
War in the East or West is a very good example for a very good game support.

Hi Stultus - we are working on the patch too but the SDK is top priority, about 75/25. Very soon now. Then we will switch entirely onto the patch.

Thank you for the info.
This game is great and SOWW makes history alive. I hope the devs will support this game so well like SOWG.

I can not unterstand why the SDK have the most Priority, because I think the most gamers are not moders. This game have several bugs, this is normal for a new realeased game, but to clean out this bugs is always the first thing what other game developers do an then !! switch to other things what the game enhanced.

I've not played since June because of the bugs, to be honest I'm getting pissed of with the lack of patches. It seems they are giving the modders priority hoping they can make the game more playable. Not happy!

I total agree with you roy64. I find this very strange to make first a SDK and do not eliminate the biggest bugs. [&:]

Most gamers are not modders but most gamers love mods.

We reworked our system entirely for Waterloo so people needed a new SDK to mod it. This will allow modders to make much more free content for the game, cater to specific tastes, specific eras. We had alot of requests for it early on and after we released the beta patch we started work on it. People are cranking out mods on our site already. These are different maps, battle types, OOBs all available for free - we do not release the SDK to fix game bugs. As ETF rightly says we are also providing a free-of-charge scenario and OOB editor that will also lead to far more content.

I think it's a good approach to have the beta patch out there for players to hammer at while finishing up the SDK. It should give a chance for a much larger group to test and make sure critical things are caught before releasing official patch. And it allows those that want an opportunity to have the critical fixes.

Thanks
Rick

Yes, i like mods but the game needs optimation for a better performance, some scenarios have bugs and are not full playable from both sides, re supply bug, etc. I bye a lot of games from Matrix, but no one let the customer wait for month to eliminate such bugs.

Unfortunately it is too late now to change the order, but we hope to have the SDK finished very soon and also the new, free scenario editor.

1. Beta Patch
2. SDK
3. Scenario Editor
4. Patch 1

The editor is not free I've already paid for it as it was meant to come with the game.[;)]

Let's face it the game was released far to early & it should have had weekly updates to fix the bugs which are plaguing the game. I would never have brought Scourge of War: Waterloo if I new it was in such a state. It's 74 day's since I brought the game & no fixes which is pretty poor. Maybe Waterloo will be a great game in the future. I must admit I don't think I'll be supporting NorbSoftDev in the future.

I don't see an editor listed in the game features on the product page. Where did you see this?
